Besides taking over the counter-narcotics program from the Brit's, how is what she is advocating different than what is going on?
As for engaging Iran... they were doing narcotic interdiction and they still are however when they catch the smugglers they confiscate the narcotics, arm the smugglers and send them back into Afghanistan.
