Ranger Jim,

I apologize for the delay. The previous week of school has been quite hectic...loaded with tests and other activities that I'm trying to sign up for.

As for a little more about myself, well again, my name is Jake and I'm 21. I was born and raised in America, Chicago to be more exact, but my parents and entire family is straight off the boat European. My grandparents were ethnic Germans but with all the wars and border disputes in the 21st century over in Europe, the area that they lived in is now Poland so I consider myself Polish. I guess you can say Polish is my first language, as I didn't learn English until I went to school...and I rarely, if ever, speak English to my parents or relatives. I'm a huge fan of soccer, and lacrosse...and I've always participated in those sports whenever I had a moment.

I studied abroad for an entire year last year, in Austria and Germany, which was an excellent experience...a great way to explore another part of me, and to brush up on my German language skills. I tore my ACL while playing soccer during my time there, which is utter shit....I've never been injured, and I've always considered myself an unstoppable beast when it comes to sports but reality hit me in the face when I heard that pencil-breaking snap. Whatever...I won't let a damn knee stop me from living life and experiencing everything possible.

My interest in the Army started in college, 3 years ago...from, I don't really know. Something about the military, and the Army...appeals to me greatly. I'm drawn to it. I'm torn however between going Infantry vs. Military Intelligence...or going 11X with Option 40 or doing the 18X option (like some people have suggested for me) but I still have quite some time to decide. A lot of my Professors (and friends) have been encouraging me to give up my desire to join the Army and to go to China for a year, to teach English (and hopefully learn some Chinese) and to gain some more "wordly" abroad experience. Eh, we'll see how shit pans out.

So yea, that's a little bit more about me. Hope it wasn't too boring.

Good response, Jake. You might want to try to collect data on each option. The Army website has a lot of information, but if you want to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right place. Never, never quit.
