Update here from GrowOrDie

Post by GrowOrDie »

Apologies to everybody.. I have been insanely busy the last year or so with training up to goto Iraq and all. Most of you probably don't remember me, I'm a former DEP here and I wound up at 3ID after bolo'ing.

I've been training hard.. its good shit too so far. I'm about a year plus into it at the unit and i've learned alot.. The training i've recieved will hopefully keep my ass alive in country when I finally depart from American soil in the next few months and I'll be sure to give plenty of sitreps from the box. PT still is not my strongpoint, so i'm always working up hill to improve.

One thing i've noticed here in the 3ID is that the new dicks lack heart and a want to actually be a soldier. We have our fair share of shitbags so if any of you future DEP'ers wind up on the line somewhere dont get retarded. Don't get involved with half tards and get your career fucked up because you wanted to drink at the barracks.. Men, its not worth it. Honestly.

On a lighter note, training has gone well.. i've done rotations at NTC and been to my share of field problems where I exceled in all of them. I'm looking to make rank and move up in my short time here and if I decide to re-up, maybe moving out to do bigger and better things.

To Ranger Ingraham- I apologize that I havent been able to get in touch with you. I got your voicemails but my phone service is acting up.. As soon as I can fix it I'll be sure to give you a call back. As well, PM is inbound.

Thanks to all the Rangers and green beanies here who support these DEPs, You do have a huge impact on their lives. Keep up the outstanding effort.

GorD out.

Brother, you can get trigger time in the 3ID, too.

Keep this in mind, and tell your nugs this, as well: every time that you go to the range, and practice the core skill of a soldier, that single round that you launch down range may be the difference between life or death for you and your brothers.

Get benefit from every single bullet.

I was taught this sense of focus, and it translated into a sense of professionalism, by the last Command Sergeant Major of the Regiment (and later CSM of the AWG), who was my squad leader at the time that he taught me basic rifle marksmanship by smacking me hard on the steel pot with a rolled up newspaper reinforced with duct tape. He called it a "bonehead beater." It was aptly named.

God bless, and please kill lots of bad guys.

Thanks.

Thanks for the update. Take the opportunity to continue to learn and to lead. You can earn your CIB in the 3ID, too.

I got an email from Grow or Die today, he's been in the sandbox a bit over a month & is 'CIB qualified'.
Seems to me that he's becoming a real professional, & is making the most of what he has to work with.
I'm glad I had the chance to work with him & that he has stayed in touch.

I believe the term is Special Forces Soldiers there tough guy. Why would you call them a fucking HAT???

Never mind.

Good luck on your deployment. Stay vertical and kill every one of those fuckers you can. Keep your mouth shut, your feet and knees together, and come home in one piece. You can always move forward... but never, backwards.

That is all.

Apologies to everyone. Didnt mean to step on anyones dick..especially my own with the green beanie comment. Wasn't meant as a derogatory comment.

Things are going well here so far. Our sector is a little bit of the wild west but it keeps you from getting complacent. We also have our own company range so you get as much time on the range as you can handle when you're not doing a missions.

Hope everyones christmas goes well. I'll do my best to keep everyone posted as often as I can. Thanks.
