ERB

Post by simpson »

Rangers,

I sent my packet in through the S1 at 232 in Fort Sam (68W AIT). For the next 3 months I checked my ERB religiously. About 3 weeks ago I finally saw ranger reception projected as my next destination.

The next time I checked my ERB it had gone away. Now I'm back in the dog house wondering and worried about my ranger packet. I'm just trying to figure out what my next course of action is. I would really appreciate any advice anyone can offer.

Since you're a man of few words (6 posts in a year), I'll take a moment to address your concerns.

Don't take anything on your ERB to heart. You need to look at your ASK, which you can find after you sign in to us.army.mil (AKO). There should be a screen which says "on assignment" or something like that. I can't tell you for sure, because I'm locked out of AKO for the rest of this month. Do a little searching, and you should find what I'm talking about.

Your ASK "on assignment" should be good to go.

If I were you, I wouldn't bring up the issue until you get orders. If your orders have you going to RIP then clamp your mouth shut and move out smartly. If they don't then you can take it up with your NCOs. Orders are the key - not what is on your AKO, ERB or EIEIO.

Good Luck.

Oh yeah..... fix your avatar.

My avatar should be fixed, although I can’t see it because I'm currently on a government computer.

Roger. Keep an eye on your "on assignment" data. Don't go by what's on your ERB. What is your status? You're in the 68W course, and have Airborne School in your contract, but not the opt 40? Is that correct? What "packet" did you submit? Requesting unit of assignment at Regt, or requesting the school?

Ranger 42L5V,

I’m in a medical hold status in AIT. Right now I’m temporarily assigned to a TMC on Fort Sam. They have put me to work so at least I have been getting some good medical experience.

I have an option 4 contract (airborne). They have been trying to take that away from me due to suspected cancer but I have refused to let them. I don’t think my COC knows I have put a Ranger packet in so they have not even threatened me with that.

I put in the Ranger Medic Application (Ranger bat assignment request) and sent it up my COC.

It takes a little while for the assignment section to update. Unless you're leaving AIT next week, which you would know for sure, I would just be patient and listen to Ranger 42L5V.

His name says it all.
