Introduction
Hello Rangers,
My name is Andrew, I'm 30 years old and I live in Overland Park, Kansas. I enlisted in the Delayed Entry Program with an 11x, Airborne, Option 40 contract on May 14. My ship date is August 14, 2007. It is my goal to serve as an Army Ranger.
Thank you for your service to our country. It's an honor to speak with those who allow me to sleep safely every night.
Also, thank you for this website. It has been by far and away the best resource while going through recruiting. When the recruiter said that there were simply no Option 40s available - I was ready with a polite response. When the MEPS liason said that due to my having LASIK five years ago an Option 40 was out of the question, I knew exactly what to do. I knew that I was qualified for an Option 40 and with persistence, I received it.
My PT scores are as follows: PU - 52, SU - 35, Pull-ups - 9, 2 mile - 16:25. These scores leave much to be desired. I've got a lot of work to do.
I run six days a week, swim four, and do a routine that consistes of push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, planks, lunges, flutter kicks, back extensions, etc. four days a week. I picked up a yoga class once a week to help me with my strength and flexibility. I've lost 90 pounds since January 1st (285 to 195) and I want to lose another 20 before I ship.
Thank you again for this resource and your protecting of our freedom. I will now sit down and STFU until requested to do otherwise.
Andrew

Thank you for your responses, Rangers.
Ranger Jim, I graduated from the University of Kansas eight years ago with a B.S. in Journalism with an emphasis in Business Communications. I will enter the army as an E-4.
I am no longer married (annulment seven years ago) and have no children, so there is nothing holding me to Kansas except my family who support me 100%.
