NO, cold is getting mail in Mountains from the spec 4's in your platoon back home. When you open it, you find an envelope filled with empty Snickers and Butterfinger wrapers. And then you realize that all of the RI's are shitting themselves because they are laughing so hard. What I told this kid is just pure humor!!cams wrote:That's just cold Bro.Charlie 51 wrote:So, how many heat cat 5 days did you have to suffer through?
Hey when the RIP instructors come pick you up from Airborne, make sure you tell them you belong to this site. You might get some special treatment, they like to know how squared away you are. Here are a few things to tell them right up front
Say "Hey Sgt. Airborne (they think its cool to be called that) I would like to know how to koala-fy"
Also ask them to show you how to use a PRC-E6, its a high speed radio that only Regiment has. They won't show you unless you ask.
Then ask them to read this phrase out loud, don't think about it, just say it out loud.
I SOFA KING WE TODD DID
Dude you will score some serious points, I mean you will be well on your way to honor grad!!
Good Luck!!!

I got a letter in Florida written on a Burger King wrapper from my tabless bitch buddy. The guy even taped it up like an envelope, addressed it and put a stamp on it. This was the same dick that sent me a package while I was in Egypt with a six pack of Coors Light (the cans were empty) an egg of play doh, a pack of gum (all the gum was gone, but he took the time to put all of the wrappers back together), so of course while he was in Haiti, I got him a subscription to a couple of gay porn mags.Charlie 51 wrote:NO, cold is getting mail in Mountains from the spec 4's in your platoon back home. Priceless, Roy. When I was in Saudi Arabia, my "buddy" got me a subscription to Penthouse and some gav magazine. Every month I'd get a call from the APO. "Buddy" is only half the word.Rangerguru wrote:I got a letter in Florida written on a Burger King wrapper from my tabless bitch buddy. Update:
On Friday, I graduated from Airborne School and earned my Jump Wings. I have to admit, it was an awesome feeling to join the ranks of the Paratroopers.
We were all given a pass to go home for Memorial Day weekend, and we get picked up for RIP hold on Wed. We're supposed to be on hold for 4 weeks, but that may be subject to change.
I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend, and once again, thank you for all the support.
To all of the servicemen and women on this forum, thank you for your service to this country.
Take care,
- Cosmo

Cosmo. Good questions from your last PM's today. Real good. I'll answer back tonight. Best of luck during hold over and don't screw up. As far as your last question goes short answer. In due time it can work just don't get in a hurry. Drive on.

Rangers,
As of right now, I am in R.I.P. holdover, and will be there for 5 weeks. While I obviously can't say too much about what's going on because of OPSEC, needless to say, the PT is a real smoker, but at the end of it, I feel good about myself, and I'll be that much more prepared after 5 weeks of it.
We're all mostly on details that keep us relatively busy, and it can get pretty frustrating waiting on "the bleachers" for half the day until we're released, but I'm still just as eager to graduate RIP and serve in a Ranger Battalion.
While I don't get much time to head onto a computer, I'll try to keep everyone here updated on how RIP holdover is going, and eventually, how RIP is. Its been 6 months of training, and the fact that I'm getting closer and closer to earning that Scroll and Tan Beret is a huge drive for me. There's no stopping now, no reason to quit.
Take care everyone.

Don't sweat being a holdover. It took me 9 months to get to 2/75. All of the time was being spent as an ENTNAC holdover, just to get to RIP in time for them to do BRC. So I sat around for another 5 weeks.Cosmo wrote:Rangers,

What was priceless about it was the fact that not only my PT got way better, but that I began getting used to the mentality I was going to encounter. Never took anything for granted and didn't fuck off one single time. By the time RIP finally started, I knew my way around, had memorized all of the instructor's names and ranks, knew where not to ever be and how to conduct myself. It made RIP a lot easier.
You'll be fine. Don't get the holdover attitude too bad, especially when guys around you start quitting, because "I didn't sign up to wait around...

Mind straight, body strong and never quit.
