Rnuovrcj5 airborne sitrep

Post by Rnuovrcj5 »

Rangers, its been a while since i've had a chance to put out a sitrep so here it goes. I graduate Airborne school tomorrow. I got lucky and went straight from Sand Hill and right into the school with no holdover. Ground and tower week were pretty cool but long. Lots of standing around waiting for everyone to get done. And i don't think i've ever fallen over so much in my life. Jumping from a plane was awesome. i was the third man out of the door on the first pass of the first day. All i can really say about it was that i love it. I landed soft as a feather on that first jump and like a sack of shit on the rest. I sprained my ankle pretty good on the second jump but sucked it up and drove on. I almost put my right knee on the ground with my foot flat on the ground. The first thing i did after getting out of the harness was tighten my boot up. More people got hurt on that one jump than the other 4 combined. I'm just hoping my ankle is feeling better by Monday or I might need to take my PT test in boots. It already feels a little better so i should be good by then. I'm looking forward to getting to RIP and finally making it to my goal.
Thank you all for all the help and support I have recieved,

Awesome job so far..... I'm damn proud of all you've accomplished so far. Yup.....Beware that ankle.

Perhaps some of the medical guru's here could hook you up. I'm thinking an ice bath for the foot ever day for a week or so, but I'm sure better advice to follow.

Never give up. Never surrender.

Congratulations Brian. Hey PT test in boots, thats how it used to be. You have come this far and I have faith in you that soon we will be calling you Ranger! Ice can help you but also stretch and rotate your ankle. I've been there and so have others. Drive on and I'll call you later tonight.
Thanks for the update.

well Rangers, I finally made it. I was recycled from class 06-07 and jumped right back into 07-07. there was a huge difference in the the difficulty of the two classes. I almost felt i was being handed my scroll in the first one but can definetly say i earned it in the the second one. I am looking forward to friday when i get to put on my tan beret and have my father pin (or velcro :? ) my scroll on. thank you all for the help and support you have given me throughout all of this. I look forward to serving in 3rd Battalion and fufilling my goal of being an Airborne Ranger.
