Cosmo SITREP: Jump School, Week 2
Cosmo SITREP: Jump School, Week 2
Hello, this is Cosmo posting my first SITREP since early January before heading off to Ft. Benning.
Right now I'm at Airborne, about to go into Week 2. The training I've received thus far has been great, and I'm extremely excited for Jump week and to earn those silver wings. The best part about it is that a few WWII 101st vets are coming down to see me at graduation, so I have a lot to look foward to. I'm also looking foward to R.I.P., as its finally my chance to prove my mettle as a man. I'm getting closer and closer to my goal of becoming a Ranger, and I WILL NOT quit. Period.
So far, my Ft. Benning experience has been something I'll always remember. My PT has increased tremendously since my first day at Ft. Benning, and right now stands at 55 pushups, 75 situps, and a 13:36 2 mile run. I'm still improving, and I'm getting closer to my goal of a 300 AFPT score. For BRM, I shot a 34/40 with the M4 Carbine (How our company got lucky enough to issue those out for my cycle, I don't even know), and set aside from being sick as shit throughout FTX, I did just fine on the 12 miler back to Honor Hill (my feet got fucked up, but nothing moleskin couldn't help).
These past few weeks I've been here at Airborne hold/training I've been browsing the forums looking up critical information that will help me in R.I.P. I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone that has contributed to this site. I guarantee I'll be using the info posted here later on in my Army career.
Take care everyone, and I'll be posting further SITREPS as I continue.

Now go ahead, smoke BAC and then get to RIP. Remember that they cannot kill you, but they can make you want to die.
Keep us posted here!

Good luck Cosmo, git er done.
Remember to yell "Ranger!!" at the top of your lungs everytime you exit the 34' tower just to motivate the black hats!! They love that stuff!

(I think I did at least 30 exits from that tower in one day whereas most students do 6-7, each time getting my straps sinched tighter because I kept yelling Ranger on my way out! They finally gave up when I was almost completely doubled over by the pressure of the straps and still hobbling over to and back up the stairs asking for more!)

I was a tabbed SP4, with double Eagles (101st) and Air Assault wings when I went through BAC. Two weeks after Ranger School, cocky as hell and eating everything in the DFAC. Yeah, I got fucked with....

Rangers,
I appreciate all of the support given here on the forums. I'm as excited as ever now that RIP is only a few weeks away, and regardless of the obvious "suck" that I'll have to endure for 4 weeks, the words of encouragement from my family, the vets, and the Rangers on this forum will help fuel my drive of becoming a Ranger.
Take care everyone, and I'll keep everyone updated on my progress through Airborne.
God bless,
- Cosmo

Kick some ass bud!! Remember, it's a couple of weeks of pain, but when it's over, your life will be changed forever.Cosmo wrote:Rangers,

So, how many heat cat 5 days did you have to suffer through?
Hey when the RIP instructors come pick you up from Airborne, make sure you tell them you belong to this site. You might get some special treatment, they like to know how squared away you are. Here are a few things to tell them right up front
Say "Hey Sgt. Airborne (they think its cool to be called that) I would like to know how to koala-fy"
Also ask them to show you how to use a PRC-E6, its a high speed radio that only Regiment has. They won't show you unless you ask.
Then ask them to read this phrase out loud, don't think about it, just say it out loud.
I SOFA KING WE TODD DID
Dude you will score some serious points, I mean you will be well on your way to honor grad!!
Good Luck!!!
