Another reason to hate myspace...

On the front page of Myspace.com there was a link to this video this morning:

I'm still trying to find out what unit patch that is (I've seen it before, can't recall where though). From his myspace profile and uniform I gather that his name is "Jonathan Bennett". Just trying to figure out the best course of action screw this asshole over.

Functionally they are a 200% improvement over BDUs...Can;t say much for their ability to "blend in" though...Who cares...we ain't hiding from anybody right now anyway.

I fucking HATE the velcro on the ACU's. Maybe it's just me, but the fucking name tapes always curl up on the edges and stick to the large velcro patches on the sleeves.

Also, the color is for shit. I agree with SB, we aren't hiding from anyone now... but, fuck. This color pattern blends in with... er... Mall Tile? Floor Tiles? WTF??

Also, they give us all this velcro so we can go "sterile". Yeah, right. Who pulls all the shit off their uniform in the box? Not most people.

Hell, I also think the pin on badges suck. We walk around in garrison with a brightly colored American Flag on our right shoulder... but, subdued everywhere else.

I like how the Marines did theirs. They use buttons... they have two different colors (desert and woodland) and they wear the shiny skill badges in garrison.

Now, we all worked to earn our halo badges, scuba bubbles, jump wings, pathfinder badges, etc... at least in garrison, let us wear the shiny ones if we wear the colored Flag.

I just don't wear the pin on stuff anymore. It is too much of a pain in the ass to pin all that shit on every day. Hell, I have started leaving the name tapes and shoulder patches on when I wash my shit.

On a positive note, I think they fit better. I like the "cut" of the new ACU's... just not wild about the velcro or color.

Then again, I am just a fucking TRADOC BITCH now.

I'm not saying whether or not I agree with his message, just the way he presented it. He's acting like an ass in a public place with two other soldiers (one not wearing a top, and one not wearing headgear).

He's acting inappropriately, his message doesn't matter.

I've heard of the zipper getting stuck. The cargo pockets get fubared from all the mud making the velcro useless... and of course "Mall Assault" camo. :? Somebody had a brain fart with the design.
