Introduction

Post by BostonHusky »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Brenden. I am a 22 year old senior at Northeastern University in Boston, receiving my Bachelors degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice in May. I am currently in the DEP and I enlisted as a 68W with option 40 on January 12th of this year. I am shipping out for BCT at Fort Benning on May 31st. A little about myself, I am a huge Red Sox and Patriots fan. I ran the Chicago Marathon last October and I am currently training to run the Boston Marathon before I leave for BCT. I just want to thank all of you for your service and for contributing to the wealth of knowledge on this site. Thanks for your time.

Welcome to the site Brenden

What did you run at Chicago?

I was running with Dean Karnazes in Minnesota that weekend, his 37th of 50 Marathons in a row, so I missed it.

Ranger Charlie,

I ran Chicago at a sluggish 4:50. I was limping for about 22 miles from what I later found out to be a stress fracture in my right leg that was lingering from a few weeks prior. You didn't miss much, the weather was pretty bad, high 30's with rain and high winds, but I made the best of it. I'm hoping to run Boston on my new and improved right leg and get a sub-4 hour time. How was the Marathon in Minnesota? Did you get to meet Karnazes? I heard about him, and he is quite and inspiration. Thank you to the rest of the Rangers for your welcome to the site. I'll try to keep up the flutta kicks but I don't have a yahd, so I might have to do them in the street and try to avoid the cahhs.

Dude you are slow!! At least your out there doing it!! No pain no gain no brain no pain!!

Yeah, I ran 3 marathons right next to Dean in St. Charles MO, Lincoln NE and Minneapolis MN and talked to him the whole way running 4 hour marathons, boldest non-Ranger I have ever met.

How are you going to run Boston? It is a selective marathon requiring a qualifying time of 3:10 for your age group or around 7:15/mile. You ran a 4:50 or around 11min/mile. I realize you were injured but how is your slow ass gonna run Boston? Did you qualify earlier in another race? If so PM me with your full name and the race. Integrity is taken very seriously on this site and throwing around the ability to run in the most prestigious road marathon in the world, if you did not qualify, is not a good thing and will certainly not impress any of the super studs on this site.

Ranger Charlie,

I apologize for the confusion. I should have stated that I was running Boston as a bandit without a number. It is evident by my Chicago time that I obviously not fast enough to be qualified for Boston, and it wasn't my intention to mislead anyone to think otherwise. Again I apologize for the confusion.

Thanks for the PM on this Brenden, in the running world we find almost as many posers as in the Ranger world. Good luck in Boston! Stay healthy, the last thing you want to do is show up to the Army as a broke dick.
