Didn't the Army raise the age limit to 40 recently? Also, I think you can get an age waiver for your AD time served. I am 39 and just went back in the Guard in July. I put in my paperwork for Ranger school, but it has gotten bumped since I will be in A-Stan next year. You will have to go in to a regular unit and then out a 4187 in for RIP from there. They have to allow you to go, just like SFAS.

Welcome. Sounds to me like you have already done your homework and that you have the right attitude to pursue your goals. Perserverence is the key word; don't let them get you down and just keep on trucken! Good luck soldier.

there is a difference between getting to go to RIP, and then serving in the Rgr Regt, and going to Ranger school.

I almost went back in at age 28 but they laughed at me when I told them I wanted "Lieutenant General" for my MOS.
