Congratulations for enlisting and getting an 11X Option 40 contract. While you count down the months before you ship to Benning, be sure to prepare yourself and stay out of trouble.

Please allow me to echo what Bill said and emphasize the need to stay out of trouble. More than one DEP has found himself out in the cold over some BS incident just weeks, days, and even hours before induction. Never, never quit!!!

I've never heard of an OPT 4. I'm assuming that was a typo. Congratulations on signing up and your willingness to serve. You have PLENTY of time. PT your ass off untill you are scoring 300 or above....

Option 4 (AIRBORNE), I couldn't get option 40 because i didn't qualify for secret security clearance so I settled for the Airborne. It sucks but I'll work with what I have.

If you couldn't get it (option 40) in your contract because of a security clearance issue.... what makes you think you will get a clearance at RIP?

RANGER RTO-The counselor at Meps told me it's a different story to try and obtain secret security clearance once you are already in the Army,But then again he could be lying just to get my sig on the dotted line.
