Intro

Post by Rnuovrcj5 »

Howdy all Rangers and Soldiers, my name is Brian. I am 20 years old and I am from SC. I swore in on 9 Sept 2006 with an 11x/Opt 40/Airborne contract. My ship date is 26 Oct 2006. I found this website while looking for more information on what i hope to do as a Ranger. The information i have found while lurking here the last few days has been extremely helpful and I hope to learn more in the time I have before I ship. I decided that I wanted to be a Ranger because of a high school jrotc teacher who was a Ranger. Just the way he carried himself made a huge impression on me and made me want to be like him. After getting side-tracked by a few dead end jobs after graduating high school, i decided it was time and enlisted. Thank you for all the info I have found here so far and all that I hope to find in the future.

Welcome to the site Brian. Nice intro. You seem squared away. You shouldn't have any problems here. Read or re-read all the stickies & FAQ's and start preparing yourself to be an Army Ranger.

How is your run speed & pushup & sit up scores please?

He answered: "The terrain was beginning to constrict and our hit time was coming close. So I put us in a Ranger file."

Rnuovrcj5 You don't have much time on your hands I sure wish you the best of luck. What kind of shape are you in as far as push up's running goes? Post it ASAP maybe I'll give you a call. There is a shit load of info here if you search for it but don't be a dumb ass and ask the same questions that other DEPS have already asked.

Thank you for the warm welcome Rangers. For Ranger Rto and Ranger Har, PT-wise I feel pretty confident. I haven't done an APFT since graduating high school 2 years ago, but i have been running regularly (long distance, from 3 to 12 miles a day). My 5K time the other day was right at 22 minutes on a very hilly cc course. Push up wise i have doing 21-down at least every other day since i swore in and can do it pretty easily. The same for sit-ups. Pull ups were just mentioned to me the other day but i can still do 10 palms-away without having done any since high school but I will be working on that.

Ranger AbnRng289, I am from the Pickens, SC area, about 20 minutes out side of Greenville.

Back to looking around here now for me.

I just reread my intro post and realized that I reported my swear-in date as 9 sept. I swore in on 11 Sept at 23:53 (i had to talk the meps personnel into letting me swear in and managed to be the last one fully processed that day)
