5 jumps down
Rangers,
Today I completed my 4th and 5th jumps and I'm graduating tomorrow. We jumped from a c-130 and a c-17. I'm not sure if I can say which I liked better as I was pretty nervous overall just from the fact of jumping. I can't say I ever performed a "dynamic PLF" as my blackhats would call it. I pretty much landed like a sack of bricks but kept my feet and knees together and came out ok. We only had around 4 injuries in the company, which were a broken leg, knee injury, concussion and a laceration to the forehead. I have to say that is the most scared I have ever been in my life but it was also the best adrenaline rush I have ever experienced. I can't believe that I can actually say that I'm a Paratrooper, AIRBORNE!!

Congrats.
No matter what anyone tells you, there are only 3 points of contact.....
1) Feet.
2) Ass.
3) Head.
Now it's time for the next step, stay focused.

As 289 stated...there is no real world "dynamic PLF"...Feet Ass Head...that's a good PLF...
Typical PLF is...
1 Foot, hip, shoulder (ouch!), Head/neck, other shoulder, other foot...breathe..nothin's broke...pack it and stack it...move out to the AA....
You just fell from 1100 feet...what else do you expect.
Just remember that "no winds on the DZ" means hang on to your ass...there is a PVT standing at parade rest, in front of the meter blocking the wind so we don't have to pay for the gas...
Good job, AIRBORNE, on making it to 5 jump chump status...It IS an accomplishment to be PROUD of...now get the rest of it...
Never ever QUIT!!!

Rode my ruck in on a night jump in Desert Phase and it saved my leg (tried a PLF off a 4 ft high rock that would have shattered the fucker). Never lowered my equipment after that...(What a ride going into Rio Hato... with the Winnebego in the front and an AT-4 on my hip...actually tried to lower THAT shit on THAT night, but back in the day of 2 quick release straps, one wasn't quite quick enough--hung up like a bitch )The Holmchicken wrote:I always like landing in a big pile of shit, jumping up and shouting "Yes!
