Introduction
Hey Rangers.
My name is Joshua and I am 18 years old. I am currently in the DEP program, and have enlisted as an 11x w/ option 40, and will be shipping out for Basic in very soon.
I have always wanted to join the Army and become a Ranger, and be a part of one of the most elite forces in the US Military. Even though there are many steps ahead of me, I plan on looking into to the Green to Gold program to become an officer once I earn the Ranger tab.
I have been on a good PT program for the last couple months, and have just passed the promotional PT test, so I will be heading to Basic with an extra rank.
My Dad and I have been reading many posts and FAQ’s on this site for a while now and it has been a great help. I would like to thank all Rangers for the great insight you have provided.

Why the hell would you want to leave Battalion right after getting your tab to go be an O?

Welcome. If you have been lurking for a while, then you know the key to success as a Ranger is to NEVER QUIT! Good luck.

Here's a thought, worry about knocking down the 50m targets before the 300m...focus on MAKING it into Regiment, and GETTING a Ranger tab, and fulfilling your committment. Then figure out if you still want to be an officer, and THEN start planning on options.
Little is gained by haste, but much can be lost.
Welcome and good luck.

Congratulations to you for your enlistment and also to your dad for raising a son who wants to be a Ranger. By the way, the Regiment IS the most elite infantry force in the world.
WE NEED MORE RANGERS!
