DEP Intro

Post by Foozbat »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Aaron and I am a 26 year old computer programmer from Dallas, TX. I graduated college in 2002 with a degree in Computer Science. I have been lurking on this site for nearly a year and have read nearly all relevant posts pertaining to Rangers, PT, and the recruitment process. Today I enlisted into the Army with an 11X Option 40 contract. I look forward to the challenge of becoming a Ranger and will keep this board updated with my progress. Following is some pertinent information on myself:
  • Contract: 11X Option 40, 4 years, $20000 enlistment bonus
  • Ship Date: 20060919
  • ASVAB AFQT: 96
  • Self Administered APFT: 261 (pushup form verified by doing them in front of a mirror)
  • 5 Mile Run: 39:33
  • Dead-hang Chinups: 12
  • Body Type: 6'0" tall, 180 pounds, lean muscular build (I apologize for not having an exact BF %)
Pre-ship Goals:
  • APFT: 300
  • 5 Mile Run: sub 37:00
Workout Plan:
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: pushups, situps/crunches, pullups/chinups, flutter kicks
  • I supplement this core workout with free weights in the 8-12 rep range exercising a different muscle group each day.
  • Runs are done on non-workout days. Once I quit my job, I will be doing runs M-F and resting on the weekends.
I am in the FLR in anticipation of Ranger Bugsy's pushup animation and am now shutting the fuck up.

Good intro. Good Luck.

IF you prove yourself worthy, the Rangers on this site MAY show you the way... with wisdom only gained through fire--from being there...and if you listen...you will have the Knowledge to Succeed.

Now, for the first piece of advice you will ever really need:

Don't quit. Don't ever Fucking Quit.

You will hear that now... and forever... from every Ranger on this site....

IF you earn your Tan Beret... and LEARN the Brotherhood of the Scroll

IF you go to Ranger School... and EARN the Coveted Black and Gold

and IF you are in Combat... and FEEL the Heat of Battle...

DONT EVER QUIT!!! EVER!!!

That intro was created on MS Word, spell-checked and had bullets in it. You are scaring me.
