Ok.
I just cruised the Noveske site. I saw their 10.5-inch, but no mention of the 7.5-inch to which you linked.
That is seriously what I think that I need. A perfect piece of iron to keep mounted on the roof of a truck or in a rack in a jeep.
Does Noveske hide that thing, or something?
Ah. I just found it. In their gallery. Apparently a custom-build.
Ok. This is what I think that I need to do. I already have an MSTN 10.5-inch upper. It is sweet. I already have a collapsable buttstock, and a handgrip, and some other shit.
What I think that I want to do is get a lower receiver, semi-only is fine....in a desert finish. The buttstock is tan. The furniture on the MSTN upper is desert tan. I will just send my buttstock and handgrip to whomever builds this thing for me and have them take care of it all.
Then I think that I want to get a 7.5-inch upper. It looks like these things are threaded, so I could get a suppressor.
Any problems swapping that monster flash hider for a suppressor?
Or are the blowback and cycling issues so sensitive with such short barrel lengths that I need to dictate a set up and stick with it, losing the ability to swap? If so, I will live with it.
I think that I will get a long-barrel solution, as well. Just the upper. I will then be able to swap out a 10.5-inch upper, a 7.5-inch upper, and a longer upper, probably an 18-incher.
Any reliability issues with these short weapons?
Thanks for your insight.

I will have my Ranger brother handle this for me.
He can sub out whatever he wishes to whomever he desires.
Cost is no obstacle on something like this.
I paid like $1500 for that MSTN upper. It was totally worth it. A once in a lifetime purchase.
It will be the same with a 7.5-inch upper.
If it ends up costing two grand with a good suppressor...I will consider it money well spent.

I was reading that MSTN was getting phenomenal accuracy out of 12" Noveske barrels, something like 1 MOA at 200 yards with factory ammo.
I just plunked down a sizeable chunk of change for a MSTN 16" 6.8SPC upper and an Acog TA31F. I should have both in my hands this time next week, and a couple of cases of ammo from MidwayUSA which should be Friday.
After talking with Paul at MSTN I realized how little I know about building AR's.

Wes and company at MSTN are the shit.
I got nothing but praise for those guys.
Well....I am going to give this some thought. I can afford to do this now....but obviously it would be something that I would have built, and then cached until the day (the sad day) finally arrives when I return to CONUS from the Orient.
It will have to happen eventually. A man cannot live without hockey. Or Howard Stern. Or The Sopranos. Or Saturday Night Live.
Or cool guns.
Keep this in mind, and make it a background process for me. As you learn, catalog shit that might be useful. I will have you handle this upper for me, and a lower.
I prefer to run the business through friends, for obvious reasons.
Thanks.

If I had the money, I would be on that like stink on shit.
I have had 2 Oly Arms AR's and never had any problems. The first was a PCR (politically correct rifle) set up for varmints. The one I currently own is a pre-ban shorty, though I want to put a flat top, front sight post eliminator and fore grip with rails on it, I don't know enough about them to do it. (and quite frankly I don't trust any of the smiths up here because of several reasons)
The shorty is my balloon going up gun so it hasn't seen much action, but I am starting to change that.
Do you need a long distance apprentice?

Interesting.
Oly Arms has a crappy reputation, for some reason.
I think that their AR pistols would be the heat, if they are reliable.
I got to take a pass on this one, brother. I am too far out from moving back to the states right now.
But you are definitely catalogued in my head for future work.
