Hello, my name is Marcos. I'm 18 years old and a senior in highschool. I enlisted in August of last year as an 11x Airborne unassigned since no option 40 slots were available (unless I wanted to be a fireman). I'm hoping to acquire a slot during Airborne school via the Ranger liason, which I learned of while lurking about this site. I've done tons of research but I've learned nothing is more valuable or clear than information from the BTDT's. And so I am here, mouth shut, eyes and ears open. Forgive me if I don't say much, I learn most by searching and observing and will probably only ask a question when I can't find the answer on my own. Anyways, I have much respect for you guys and I'm looking forward to the info.
By the way, I ship out to Ft. Benning for OSUT on June 9th.
one question...they said they would give you an option 40 contract if you signed up to be a fireman????????
If I recall correctly, he said the only available slot was for a firefighter. What I remember a 100% is that it was not a combat arms MOS. I wanted 11 series with an option 40, they didn't have it so I settled with airborne infantry, Ranger BadMuther.

Gotcha......The firefighter part sounds off...good luck on getting a Ranger contract. I mean that.
