Extra Time

OK, I've searched for this and nothing is coming up. I have just decided to enlist with an op 40, and I need a lot of time to get ready. When I talk to my recruiter, will he/she be able to delay me leaving until this fall if I request it, or will they be obligated to ship me this summer? I would just ask the recruiter, but don't want to get decieved.

If you need more time, you shouldn't have wasted someone's slot.

SFC hit_it, I haven't wasted anyone's slot...I haven't talked to the recruiter yet. Just wondering if I should wait for awhile before signing up, or if I can sign up but delay leaving.

Mavslax if this helps any I have had my contract since October, you can delay ship date it is called the DEP program. Surely you have noticed a few of us around the site. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about DEP and I will anwser to the best of my ability.
