RGRJoey001

Post by rgrjoey001 »

My name is Joey, and I enlisted in the active Army in January 1992, (11B Cohort to A/1-22INF, 10th MTN (LID)) where I served as an RTO, grenadier, and Fire-Team Leader. I was deployed three times: to Homestead, FL for Hurricaine Andrew relief (SEP 93); to Somalia for Operations Restore and Continue Hope (APR-AUG 94); and to Haiti for Operations Restore and Uphold Democracy (SEP 94 - JAN 95). I earned the Combat Infantry Badge as a result of service in Somalia.

I ETS'ed in APR 95 to enlist in the Georgia Army National Guard (H/121INF (LRSU)), where I served for two years as an Assistant LRS Team Leader.

In MAY 97 I re-enlisted in the active Army, and was assigned to 1/C/3-187INF (Rakkasans), 101st ABN (AASLT). While at Fort Campbell, I served as a machine gunner (M60/M240B), Fire-Team Leader, Rifle Squad Leader, Weapons Squad Leader, and part time Platoon Sergeant. I graduated the Air Assault Course in June 97, earned the Expert Infantry Badge in July 98, and graduated the Airborne course in 2000. I began Ranger School in FEB 98 (Class 04-98), broke my foot and returned to my unit. I returned to the Ranger course in July 98 (Class 11-98), got recylced and graduated with Class 01-99 in DEC 98.

In OCT 2001 I reported to E/1-38INF (INF OSUT) for duty as a Drill Sergeant. I was selected for SFC and OCS in the Fall 2002, and was commissioned as a Chemical Officer in May 2003.

Since OBC, I have served as a Chemical Platoon Leader (DECON), a Chemical Company XO, a Squadron Chemical Officer, and a Squadron Adjutant in the Republic of Korea. I will attend the Chemical Captain's Career Course in July of this year.

JOSEPH J. PRUITT
