Try going from gunpoint to close range h2h and back to gunpoint a few times and you will appreciate the fact that you can drop your glock into the holster and it's still safe and secure. Try that with your sig's, Hk's etc. Unless you are trying to tell me that in 3 meters with an aggressive a-hole you are so well trained that you can decock and holster, draw and decock and holster repeatedly.

A look at any police range begs otherwise.

But hey, to each his own.
Good points all of 'em. But even though I have TRAINED with some LE guys, I am not in LE. There are obviously different ROEs for situations you may find yourself in and those that I may find myself in. Bottom line up front, (ok, near the end ), my dad loves his Sigs, my DEA bud and you love your Glocks, I love my HKs and Kimbers....once you reach the high quality of firearms at this level, to quote you "to each his own". :)

Maybe we should have clarified as to use. My glock experience has all been as a cop, and it made me a believer. I cannot imagine being without one now.

When I was in the Army I never got to shoot a pistol, very few had them.

What's the best pistol to use in a gunfight?

The one you have.

The M9 is at it's best when it's all you've got left.

Except the sidearm I had in Iraq was the Walther P99 in 9mm. Good thing I have it in .40 here CONUS so was familiar with the particulars. 8)
