congrats Ranger. If you are up at Lewis yet I probably saw you today at PT.

I was coming down off the hill of the CTA/Engineer Bluff onto Railroad Rd for those who remember it. saw a mix of tree hugger PTs and leg PTs. I was confused. saw the guidon... ah.... Replacement Co. wondered how many of our guys were in the mix...

got past 'em and the leg-shaver in my Troop was up beside me asking why there were chicks in a Ranger formation. told him who it was and he got it ( yeah, he's slow, getting old, but I was proud of that 1st Batter for recognising the old PTs).

any of you guys need anything before you get over to Bn, drop me a line.

Morning's PT

Post by cdwdirect »

We were in our black PT sweats. That run was hilarious...

They moved all the short people up front (to set the pace?) and the Rangers were pretty much all at the rear. Within a quarter mile we had replaced the guidon bearer, and the entire front of the formation was dudes in black. One of us fell out to the side and started calling cadence, and for five miles about 50 legs were LOUDLY praising the exploits of the Rangers. People couldn't hang and eventually the First Sergeant stopped and put us all in the front leaning rest for two minutes until everyone caught up, roughly 70% of the formation had fallen out. We were of the general consensus that it was the "gayer than Airborne school."

We ended by doing a few trips up and down the aforementioned hill. One of the Platoon Sergeants took over the cadence calling at that point.
