Target Aquisition
As a Platoon Sergeant I found myself at odds with my squad leaders from time to to time. One of the things they used to argue was when I insisted that all sighting systems be zeroed. Whether actuall firing range zero or merely borelight zero I insisted that all systems be zeroed. Here are pictures to prove that I wasn't insane (I hope)

The times they are a changin'.
When I went through sniper school, one of the things they hammered in to us was the importance of BUIS (Back Up Iron Sights). Glass breaks, particularly when put through some of the abuse that grunts dish out. Now if your iron sights get dicked up, that's what full auto is for. Anybody who argues against zeroing any aiming system needs their head checked.

not only can the fancy sights get damaged, but has anyone ever had a battery failure? ever? never? I don't care if you swap em out every mission, unless you put a multi-meter on the new battery before installation, you don't know how much life is in it...
