One last time (because I warned you that they would get pissed)

DON'T SIGN SHIT UNTIL YOU GET YOUR OPT 40!!!

If you have a state recognized GED then that constitutes the requirements of your state for high school completion.

The bottomline is that SFC Hit_It is the expert in terms of enlistment issues if you satisfy the guidelines that he has presented for all to review then you're good to go and your area 1st SGT is merely trying to intimated you into signing up.

Thank you Ranger Bugsy for squaring me away, my parents said the same thing and I realize now that he was just intimidating me.If the counselor cant give me what I want than I will wait till he can.If I need 15 hours of college credit I'll get it and I will get that Option 40.

11X/ABN/Option 40 secured

Post by DoTheRobot »

Well, today was...fun..

I took my ASVAB yesterday and got an 85 and all of my other scores such as GT and CO etc. were all over 120.They also counted my 1350 technical school hours and I was considered a highschool grad.

I got up at 4:00 a.m. this morning and went through MEPS.Everything was moving quickly through the physical portion but after I completed the physical it was all waiting.I eventually got everything together and told my counselor what I wanted. He went through what I was qualified for and tried to enter the 11X with Option 40 but it would not come up.On the qualifying list there was no 11X and he was wondering why not so he made a cal and got me what I want without any further problems.I filled out a buttload of paperwork and swore in before leaving around 5:00 p.m. . I have my 1,1,1 test later this week with 1 minute of pushups, situps, and a 1 mile run which wont be a problem.Later I will complete my Pre BCT task list so I can go in as an E2.

I now have an 11X contract with Airborne and Option 40.Its all there with my OSUT start date and my BAT start date.I couldnt be more excited and I would like to thank all of the Rangers for thier advice on this thread and throughout these forums.I would also like to thank my now fellow DEPs for thier help also.
