Also since you have a back injury try swimming. Then don't forget if you're going to lift any weights, position your spine in a way that doesn't hurt and keep your back muscles as strong as possible. Keep your spine as stable and straight as possible.

I have problems with my cervical, thorasic and lumbar. I still hit the gym and workout. Learn your limit. Don't hurt your back by overstepping the limit.

Swimming should work the entire body without pressure on the spine in any case.
