You both bring up a good point, thank you for the heads up Ranger Holmchicken on the addressing a ranger information, and the questions about his name, company, and so forth I can only adequately answer the first question "His name" with Ryan Smith, unfortunatly I can't give any of the other information simply because I don't know it. Why don't I know it? Because I don't know him personally, we are mutal friends online(much like alot of people are here) and I never got the chance to ask him those questions because they never seemed to come up yet. Do I know he is 100% legit on the issue? Of course not, in life nothing is 100% so I can understand why that might be hard to swallow, and if it would make the situation better, I will gladly ask him that information a.s.a.p and post his reply on here.

About him coming on here and asking himself for the sake of legitimacy, I don't see exactly why he would do that(if we can safely assume he truely was in Iraq and is with the 2nd Battalion Rangers) if it is my job to make a storyline. Storyline is different then "gameplay missions" which he has covered. As I stated above in my other dictionary size post, I myself am branching away from just using his experiences when developing the storyline, and would want to incorporate those experiences and basic premesises of missions into MY storyline for the mod.

Now you can believe me, disbelieve me, at this point it is clear that this is going nowhere, so I am just wasting my time. You have your points, I have mine, and I guess this just comes to an issue of "yeah, well we ARE rangers, you're NOT, you're an outsider" and it is becoming more and more clear to me that there probably isn't enough "proof" in the world I could provide that would magically make everyone here say "Oh, o.k., he is what he says he is, and just wants a little guidance on the matter." I think you guys are under the impression I just want all these indepth information on what you and or your comrades have done in Iraq to go around bragging and trying to pass myself off as a Ranger. Which is not the case in any way, and I am not quite clear on what people on these forums see me as or think is my alterior motive, or what I'm not saying, but I can do no more then ask him for his info. and post it here, and even if I did that, it appears that I would still be questioned. But if that's what it takes, then so be it. Thanks in advance.

Also, I would like to state for Ranger Holmchicken, he did not "send this kid out to gather information" about the rangers. I am doing this myself, on my free time, and free will under no direction of any kind.

*EDIT for above post* I was not aware that there was some kind of general creed or oath that disallowed soldiers to discuss things or to be so apprehensive on this issue. I guess hindsight is 20/20 and I now know. My mistake. To a military outsider like myself, what you call "common sense" on this issue is foreign knowledge to myself, simply because I have never had nor did I ever do this sort of thing before. So I guess I have now learned my lesson on the issue. I will talk to Ryan 1 on 1 and rely on what he says as well as what(if any useful) information an Army Public Official could give me that deals with this situation.

You would have a great deal more luck selecting a unit tlike the 101st, 82nd, 10th Mtn etc. These units misssions would be competely unclass.

Also, anyone who is talking to you only through a game and boasting about service in a Bn is more then likely lying. We catch clowns like this every day. It is very common.

Thank you RANGER msg_dman(I hope I did this part correct), I agree about the gathering info on the 101st and such, but everyone in the world could and for the most part, has done this for their games. I am now aware Rangers are not too thrilled(for the most part) about video games. The guy who made the comment by no means boasted anything, but I would like to gather personal accounts of events that happened(not indepth details on the missions themselves but personal accounts) but apparently that is not going to happen due to it all being confidentional and such. Oh well. I'm done posting here, I appreciate the wake up call and the pointers on how to post in military based forums(which I never do or even post in forums in general) and hopefully this can all be put behind us.

I guess the only thing left to say is sorry, and my intentions here were nothing other then to gain information for a mod I was apart of, and not trying to fool anyone, or anything like that. I thank all the Rangers serving currently for their determination and dedication to keeping us and our country safe, and defending freedom as a whole. Take care everyone, sorry this all kind of blew up.
