Took ASVAB

Post by Herdo »

Hello SFC Hit_It and Rangers. Today I took the ASVAB and I scored a 62. My scores are as follows:

GT:108
CL:107
CO:107
EL:106
FA:107
GM:105
MM:105
OF:106
SC:106
ST:107

I was told by everyone this was a pretty good score. So next I am to go and talk to my recruiter (he is out of town at the moment) about an Option40. Is this a decent score for Rangers? My buddy that took it with me scored a percentile of 42, is that sufficent for Rangers, because we were thinking of duing the Buddy Program together. Thankyou for your time, and I hope to report back soon with my official Option 40 contract!

You need a GT of 110 for an Option40. They can wiave up to 3 points.

Be firm. Remember my stickey and get your contract.

So, in reality, you only need a 107???? That seems stupid.

Whats the max GT score somebody can get. Its been 20 years.......

Thanks
They change the ASVAB every few years. The highest right now is supposedly a 150.

I've never seen higher than a 130, Ranger.

You'd be suprised with the education system today.

The ROC (knox) can waive 3 points for someone who is otherwise qualified for the MOS/option.

Anymore than that and you ain't getting it. DA approves line score exceptions for anything bigger and they ain't budging.

This is why studying is so important.

and also why you should NOT be concerned with the fucking BUDDY PROGRAM.

You get the required score and your dumbass friend does not, and both of you wind up water purification specialists.

SFC Hit It, I scored a 133 on my GT two months ago and was told the current max score was 135; though you probably know better than my recruiter. He's a good guy, but he's very new to the job.

Sorry about that

Post by Herdo »

Sorry SFC Hit_It. The reason I said I was doing a retake was for my buddy, he only scored a 98, so I offered to take it again with him. I am gonna push for the Option 40 with my 108. Knocking down the push up's.

Thats a good idea!

You have your score now, it's 108. You will already be able to get what you want with a waver. If you retake the test it is possible for you get a lower score. Then where will you be?

Your buddy can retake the test by himself to try and raise his own score without putting yours in jeopordy.
