Some questions about Warrior Training
Some questions about Warrior Training
I've done some searches here and on other sites and can't find anything other than the length of it.
I would really appreciate any info, I hate going into anything unprepared.
Thanks :D

Re: Some questions about Warrior Training
What training are you talking about? Ranger School? OSUT? RIP? Jump School? We have entire forums dedicated to each of those. You didn't do a search at all, if you missed those.AFPhil wrote:I've done some searches here and on other sites and can't find anything other than the length of it.

Always remember: BROS BEFORE HOES.
Prior service doesn't return to bootcamp. I'm looking for information on the Warrior Training.
Ranger Earthpig,
I'm not one to say that there is no stupid question, because there are, I'm the type of soldier that likes to answer his own questions unfortunatly there isn't much information on Warrior Training for those of us that want to join the Army. All I'm looking for is people that can honestly help another vetran that has already given 4 active and 2 reserve years of his life and is looking to give another 14 active at least.
Some people can get out and adjust no problem.
Some people get out and never adjust.....I don't like working with civilians period not even if they work on base.
This board is Elitist and rightfully so. It is also the best resource of Army information i've found in the last 6 months.
I appreciate any information I get from anyone that is willing to spare their time.
If someone isn't willing then don't bother, if you think I haven't done my research that's ok. I've done my 10 weeks in bootcamp (thanks to holidays and gov shutdown), i've deployed 30 months in the first 48 I was enlisted. I have paid my dues and I'll pay more gladly all I'm looking for is good information so I don't walk blindly into anything.

Everyone returning to service in the Army will go to the WTC.
I'll get some links to put up.
It's nothing big, really. PT, Weapons Qaul, Customs and courtesies (Army), and a few other distractions.
5 weeks long, one overnight pass, Rank does apply.
You'll go even if you just got out of the Army or Corps after 90 days seperation.
More to follow.

I guess I'm the idiot here...I've never heard of Warrior Training. If that's what it's really called, it's something I'm completely unaware of. I assumed you were referring to some type of Ranger training.
Upon running a Google search, I found this link:
http://www.goordnance.apg.army.mil/site ... gatAPG.htm
If this is offered to people with a Mechanical Maintenance MOS, which this link seems to indicate, then that would explain why I've never heard of it. To my knowledge, there are no mechanics in a Ranger Bat. Apparently, this is post-Jessica Lynch shit, aimed at making the rest of the Army soldiers.

After my time...........hit_it wrote:The WTC is for any and every MOS and you may attend as an NCO. We sent a SSG not too long ago.
It's a "check the block" refresher course for people coming back into the military.
Not taking anything away from the course, as I hear the training is pretty good.

Is the standard for all PS Soldiers now.
The course will be moving from Fort Knox to a new location (heard AZ) shortly because the Armor center is restructuring, moving to Benning
Rumor mill has this course being taken over by the NG.
Knox will become home to a Brigade of the 1st Infantry Division.
More to follow on that.

Yes, 1SG. Then youwill attend MOS training if you are slated to be a reclass.LastHardSapper wrote:Interesting....so that means only this 5 week refresher is needed regardless of which service's Initial Entry Training one attended?EarthPig wrote:After my time...........hit_it wrote:The WTC is for any and every MOS and you may attend as an NCO. Lol,
First off I'd like to apologize for taking something personally that wasn't intended that way. I sent off some PM's to Ranger Earthpig first thing in the morning.
Secondly I have only been AF reserve for the last year while I was knocking out some college credits. I was in the navy for my first 4 years on a supply ship. In addition to 2 Western Pacific deployments we also were tasked with going underway anytime another ship wanted to go out and do some training, for support "just in case". Unfortunately they didn't all have the same training schedule so we would go out for anywhere from a week to 2 months at a time with usually 3 to 5 days in port.
It took me almost a year to stop sleeping with my hand on the night stand so I wouldn't roll out of bed lol.
Once again I apologize for being a dick.
