Brit,

If you have payed attention to our politics then you would understand why we would want to be armed. Especially if Hillary Clin-ton gets nominated.

My argument has never been against you lot having guns...as I said it is part of your history, society and that's why I'm hitting my head against a brick wall trying to tell you my point of view - you all can't see the other side of the argument.

My point is that it is NOT for the UK, it won't work, we don't want it and that's that... just don't want people saying otherwise.

Rant over..... and sleep.

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH! Combine the poplulation of all those countries and you get the same number as the state of Texas. Statistically you cannot compare the US to Europe.

If you guys had weapons of your own you wouldn't have needed to ask help from the US when the Nazi's where about to put a Jack Boot in your ass, mate.

Here we go again....

Didn't ask for your help against the Nazis, you entered the war after the japs whipped your ass one day.. but cheers for turning up to the war that we'd been fighting since 1939! (Bit like WW1... when did you turn up then?)

Why does every dumb cunt keep refering to the "we saved your ass" story! See other threads where we talked about this.

It was a world war - won by British, Candians, Indians, Australians, Kiwis et al - yes you were there too!

Fuck, don't see the French shouting out to you that they came in and saved your butt when you fought the British back in the 19th centuary.

Don't make stupid comments like this... you don't do yourselves any favours!

Target aquisition!!!

Coming from you??!! You couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo!

You killed more UK troops in Gulf War 1 than the fucking Iraqis!!

Taking out our APC (flying British flags) and killing our boys. (Or was it meant   )

Gulf war 2 - dumb fuck Marines firing on our Chinooks!!
Pilot landed and decked the man involved after asking "When was the last time you saw an Iraqi helicopter let alone a fucking Chinook!"

Some boys need to wind their neck in...

Actually our resident Master Psycho does have a valid point. When the Soviet Union broke up alot of their intelligence and "what if" scenarios were made public. One scenario that they "investigated" was to invade the United States through Alaska and Canada. The report was negative on the prospect of invading the United States because of the armed citizens. The Soviets feared a house to house running battle in every town they siezed.

The problem with gun control as of the type they have in England is that the "bad guys" ie the IRA were the ones who had the guns and the innocents were defenseless.

The IRA did their killing on the British mainland with explosives... arming Joe public would have not helped? Especially as there are a few million fine Irishmen and women living in the UK...it'd be shoot first and ask questions later - you may find that ok, but this country would be worse off.

Same as now, I don't need a gun to protect myself from Al Qaeda, when the probability leans towards a terror attack being another bomb etc...
Should I be armed just in case? No - the reprecussions are that gun related incidents will dramatically rise.
You are armed and 9/11 happened and the world trade bomb in the early 90's and home grown terorism when McVeigh blew up up that building... guns did not help - so how would it have helped Brits against the IRA??

The Brazilian guys our boys recently shot - mistake, bad mistake... he was an innocent unarmed civilian, nothing to do with the terrorists.
I actually back those involved as it was a split decision -- their intel was shit, they did the right thing BUT if we armed everyone or gave them that right then there would be similar deaths made by the public - errors through ignorance and negligence etc...

Don't get me started on the IRA / PIRA.

Your 'relationship' with them is /was a bit of a sore point.

The problem with those give and takes the Britsih see is that The American Constition (2nd Amedment) and Articles of Confederation...the American people were allowed to be armed to defend themselves no so much against bad guys, Indians, ect....but against the GOVERNMENT. Since many left other countries, Monarchies, tyranical in some cases,...and yes, even jolly ol England. Religious persecution, taxation, ect....was the main reason so many left.

Guns are part of what we are and what we do. Anyone can quote how many people die from assault from guns...but anyone know how many died from drunken driving? plane wrecks...knife assaults...how about pedestrain accidents? All of this proves to me that "enlightened" people are more willing to allow the Government to totally control their environment with such bullshit thoughts as...The Goverment knows best" and "The Government will take care of you". If everyone was so damned concerned about needless loss of life, wouldnt cars be banned as well? Knives....alcohol? When the population is not able to defend itself, they are at the whim of whatever the Government decides.
