Just finished Canadian Basic Training

Post by Rubes »

Rangers,

Last spring I joined the Canadian Army Reserve (as I'm only 16 I can't go Reg Force yet). I spent the last 2 months at basic training, and I do my Infantry course next summer. This training would have taken much longer for Reg Force, but like I said... If all goes well I can take the Jump Course one year from now, and transfer to the Reg Force after that.

I want to thank the Rangers and veterans on this site for the advice and experience you have provided. It was invaluable in getting through training. It was a tough, but fun summer. It was made harder by the fact that I injured my back right before our final exercise, making any sort of movement extremely painful. As I've heard Rangers and veterans alike say on this site many times, I dug deep and pushed through it and finished the exercise.

The stories, advice and tips posted on this site were greatly appreciated this summer, thank you.

Keep up the good work, even if everything in Canadian culture these days tries to dissuede you from this honorable course.

Do you get to bunk with the females in Infantry training? I saw a couple last year that I would'nt mind being in my foxhole with. Overall they were butt-ass ugly, but you aren't going to have beauty queen Infantrywomen.(that just sounds wrong)
