I went through twice, once before each RS class. No slack for us Bat Boys, but THIS Schmo is REALLY squared away.

How the fuck are enlisted guys going to Ranger School when they have about 6 months in service? Am I missing something? I take it that it is no longer competive to go there. They just send anybody at any time. Is this true?

There's a kid over at goinfantry.com that claims he got orders for Ranger School the day he arrived at BN.

I have seen guys go as soon as 4 weeks after arriving to the platoon in Batt.

4 weeks? Times have changed. Took me 18 months and I was such a complete physical wreck, I got med dropped in mountains. Well, got to change with the times I guess.

I highly doubt "that times have changed" since you were in Battalion during the same time I was, but when there is a shortage of Tabs in the platoon, guys have always been sent to school.

The only ones i knew of were NCO's taking leadership postions in the Bns, they would be sent while in RIP or right after cause they didnt want any none tabers in those postions.

But a young soldiers, the next day, ....right

isnt there something about time in grade, time in service, Rank, waivors...crap like that any more?
