Yes, the Defender team is the Air Force equivalent of the Raider challenge team which is the high school version of the Ranger challenge teams. Our Det. NCO was ex Security Forces/Base Defender, hence the "Defender Team" we get alot of our training from him and other Security Forces guys out at Tinker AFB. Myself and some of the other cadets wanted a more elite unit other than the average drill teams and stuff, so he allowed us to create the team under his vision.

And to address Ranger Steadfast's question, yes we go to the Football games and do pushups in the endzone. We also run concessions at the basketball games. Fortunately though, we don't have to pay for our service dress... but the Air Force will not issue us BDU's, we pay for those individually. The Defender team doesn't especially want to do land nav and ruck marches in blues, so we cough up the cash for a set or two. Oh, and yes I am on the drill team . Isn't my favorite thing to do but it's a requirement for the Defender team and it's good for my bearing and discipline.

Thanks again

You know, I'd really like to see your attitude and demeanor improve about all aspects of what your tasked to do. Believe it or not, despite being a complete asshole the majority of the time, I do indeed support the CAP (My son's in it) and the AFJROTC as I sincerely believe it gives some kid's the proper direction and the proper discipline needed to assist them in the military careers. However, I don't like to hear you whine about it, especially in front of a "Joint" Forum. I garun-damn-tee you that your SF sergeant wouldn't like hearing you whine about what you're tasked with and further, if you continue I will give you something to whine about.

So, keep on doing good. Shut the fuck up and then... READ MORE-POST LESS.

Be Safe,

Nagative VAK. My post was in response to this comment. Some of the better opportunities I had in ROTC came about from Drill Team/Color Guard.

Shit, I was AFJROTC in highschool.

I loved it and hated it. I commanded the unit rappeling team. JROTC(vany branch) is a good way to feel out who is there for the right reasons and who is just an asshole.

Keep your shit straight and you'll be okay.

In the mean time, shut the hell up and read. You have before you some of the most experienced warriors in the world. Don't waste the oppurtunity to learn.

Welcome to the site. I have a couple questions for oyu though about the link you posted. I was going through it and came upon the ribbons. Tell me, what do you have to do for the Purple Heart and the Tuskegee Airman Inc. AFJROTC Awards? I am not being a smart ass or anything I am being dead serious. Are these possibly for the Instructors or what?
It's all good.
