Thanks.
Ranger Kilted Heathen, I downloaded those three forms and have filled them out except a couple of things that I wanted to check on first...
On the N-426 - It asks for information such as date entered on Active Duty and Service Number. Do I just leave that whole section blank (just filling in my name/soc. #/etc) for the copy I get my recruiting officer to sign, then just fill it in on the other copies I send in after I join?
On the N-400 (Part 10, #29) it asks "Have you EVER served in the US Armed Forces? Also, on the G-325B it says "If serving or evered served in the Armed Forces of the United States, complete the following..." then asks for Branch of service, rank, Service #, etc. I assume that I should put those as nos since I have not yet. I just wanted to make sure that it would not screw things up when it comes to be processed and I am at that point serving.
I'm assuming that's how I am supposed to do it. I just want to make sure I fill everything out correctly with that, since I don't want to get anything screwed up and have it take even longer. I have everything filled out and ready to put in the mail as soon as I find that out. I am going to the recruiters tomorrow to go down to take the ASVAB and I will try and get them to sign off on the first N-426 when I am there.
Also, how will things work now for me? Do I go in 11x/ABN, wait for everything to go through then volunteer for Ranger Training? Or is there a way I can go in for Ranger Training right off the bat and the when my citizenship goes through join Ranger Batt?

Ranger Kilted Heathen, I forgot to ask...
-Does the G-325-b get mailed along with my N400?
-Do I mail my N400 to Mesquite, Texas regardless of where I live? I only ask because when I was looking up the addresses for mailing, it said that Pennsylvania residents should send their applications to Vermont.
Thanks fir all the help.

O'Doherty, You are getting superb advice and support from KH. Please continue on your path. I can assure you that if you are a good soldier, your chain of command will expedite your citizenship process. Finally, there is no greater source of pride than to have earned the right to call yourself an American citizen by bearing arms in her defence.

You are all over this!
Splendid.
Send your N400 to the Vermont "hub" as they will be the ones who set you up with an appointment for finger-printing at the INS office closest you in Pa.
Probably in Philly.
Here's a trick...the G-325-b is supposed to go with your N400.
Send it in without and the INS receiving hub in Vermont will send you a receipt saying your application has been accepted "with exceptions" this will give you a receipt # that puts you officially in the system.
You can actually bring your G-325-b along with you to your interview and that will give you the additional advantage of bringing mitigating circumstances (i.e a DEP contract) to the interviewing officers attention.
You're still a long way from that yet.
Ask the recruiting CO to fill out the appropriate blocks for you stating the recruiting command as your unit.
He will balk at this, that's cool...it will show the bastards that you are pro-active and you're a serious asset.
Remember they're used to dealing with total assholes.
Ask the recruiting CO to write you a letter of reference for your future commander at OSUT and send it ahead to the INS POC at JAG at the post you will attend OSUT if he won't sign the N426 for you (remember they don't get this shit every day so you'll run into bit of "hmmm er, well hmmm)
Keep a copy for yourself.
It will be several months before you even get an appointment to be finger printed but keep in mind THEY WANT TO MAKE SOLDIERS CITIZENS it's good PR these days.
With any luck and the wind blowing just right you could be swearing in as a citizen at the end of AIT and as soon as you get to Airborne school you can look up the Ranger liason and blow him for a shot at RIP.
They will do a thorough enough back-ground check because you're an alien to merit an interim-level security clearance (another file you make numerous copies of and guard with your life) and that's the same as the secret clearance back-ground check because it's done by the FBI.
I've put this in the open rather than pm so I won't have to repeat myself next time some one else in your situation has the same questions.
There's been a nasty out-break of Canadians seeking adventure lately.
I realise I'm shoving a lot at you but the Almighty says that's what you get for asking the fucking question.
Keep me posted.
By the way...you better be worth a shit.
I'll fucking hunt you down.

Ranger Kilted Heathen,
I mailed out the completed N-400 and G-325B today to Vermont. I then went down to the recruiters office to take the ASVAB. After an hour and half drive each way i got to the testing centre to find that it was closed today and the recruiters office had not known. I sat down and talked to the recruiting CO for about 45 minutes and tried to explain what I needed and convince her to sign the N-426. She refuses to sign it. She says it cannot be signed until I have shipped to basic since that is the first time that I am on Active Duty. She said that they will not sign it there either. She said if I'm lucky I may get it signed at AIT, but I will probably have to wait until my first station to get it signed. If that is what I have to do then I will wait and get it done that way. I just don't know if they are wrong. I sat there for ages and tried to get her to sign, but they do not seem to know anything about the whole process - just that she is not going to sign it. I also asked to set up an appointment with the INS POC at the local base like you said to and she told me that I'd just have to go talk to a regular INS officer in Pittsburgh.
Am I being BSed or misinformed by the recruiters? Are there any steps I can take to do something about it? Can I go talk to a different recruiter (I'm getting a little nervous about how uninformed mine are) and hope they will be more helpful or at this point do I just go in and send in the N-426 when I get to my first station and wait it out?
Sorry this is such a pain in the arse and thanks again for all the help.

Relax, we saw this coming, that's why you made all those copies.
First of all, you can't talk to a regular INS officer without an appointment.
You can't get an appointment without first being finger printed and you can't get finger printed without your INS receipt #.
Isn't this fun?
You are a step ahead now.
Don't go back to that recruiter go to another office and tell them what your intentions are.
Wait for the first office to call you.
They will.
When you go to the second recruiter you'll know what questions to ask.
If they are not knowledgeable...thank them and walk out.
Wait for them to call.
They will.
Here's the deal...if you sign a DEP contract you are actually in the IRR for all intents and purposes. That's the Individual Ready Reserve. It's not the Army per say BUT IT CAN get you to the attention INS POC at JAG at the nearest AC military installation.
Don't sign shit until one office or the other makes themselves smart on this. You now know more than they do.They have to play catch up.
The office that gets smart first gets your contract.
You're doing fine.
PM me with your updates and we'll discuss it further.
By the way...I told you to hold back the G-325-b for a reason.
Do push ups for that.
Other-wise you're doing fine.
Knock out 50!
