I've seen a couple DEP'pers claim to be pushing after instructed to do so, but how do we know they're really doing it? Maybe video proof should be demanded of them

Marine Deathy McDeath, I see it as a good opportunity to crank out some pushups. Plus I'm not going to disrespect Rangers and other service members.

What about the good opportunity to crank out the answer to the roofing question, then you wouldn't have to be pretending to do pushups.

Welcome.

US Army Veteran ANGRYCivilian, not my area of knowledge. I am, however, still trying to decipher the message.

Good. At least you're showing tenacity. Still need work on your timeliness though. Do another 25 push-ups to help you think!

Rangers,

I would first like to apologize for my worthless introduction and poor impression I made for myself in your home. I jumped in head first without looking to see what I was jumping into. It has been close to one year since my last post, due to my adherence to the eyes open and mouth shut policy. From here, I have learned more about the Army and Special Operations than I could have anywhere else. For this I am very thankful.

As of now, I am still attending college, contemplating my options. I have taken a very straightforward approach to physical fitness and am making leaps and bounds in progress, which can be attributed to information and inspiration found on this site. There really is nothing like the feeling you get when you ignore all pain and thoughts of quitting while running. Even though you feel like you are on the verge of death, the end satisfaction is more than worth it. And I know this is much less than a taste of Ranger life, but I believe it is a step in the right direction. A very humbling experience.

I realize I screwed up. I did not want to look like another name on the forum which ungratefully fades away. I truly appreciate the privledge of being a member of this forum and having access to this wealth of information. Thank you for your service.

Hey, no problem. Way to slow down and take a look at the situation. With a continued level of diligence, I'm sure you'll qualify for a management position at your local DMV.

Ranger Bill,

I am thinking about joining. What is slowing me down is I cannot decide 100% on the path I should take. I would like to eventually become a law enforcement officer, but feel a career with the Army would be an invaluable experience and would make me a better candidate for the job. Of course this is not my primary reason to join. I have great pride in this country and its history, and feel in debt for the freedom that I enjoy everydady. That being said, my first serious thoughts of joining happened when a friend brought my attention to the 18x option. I did not know of the Ranger option until I came across this forum when searching for more information on 18x. The only other option I have been looking at, which was recommended by someone who has done it, is to join as a medic and then apply for selections. According to him, this is the best path to Special Forces and he highly advises against the 18x option. I know I want to serve, I just don't know how I can best use myself to serve in the Army.
