My name is Joe. I'm 22 and live in Pittsburgh. I graduated from High School and spent the last few years touring in a band and starting a business for other bands. It was everything I had thought that I wanted to do and it was going well. Then one day i woke up and realized that I wasn't happy with what I was doing and I wasn't proud of who I was.
At that point I had one of those moments where everything clicked and I knew that I wanted to be in the military. I moved over here from Britain when I was 14 and I decided that it is time that I give something back to the country that has been so great to me and my family since we moved here.
I've been talking to recruiters and am scheduled to go take the ASVAB on Thursday. My big issue is that I have not taken up US citizenship yet and I want to go in on an 18x contract. My recruiters are looking into the citizenship process and how quickly we can get it done. I'm anxious to get in, but I realize after all this time dicking around that if I have to wait to get what I want then I have to wait. I plan to use the wait to push myself to the highest levels of PT I can reach.
