I detect a "bit" of sarcasm in this post. Gimme' one good reason I shouldn't flush you right now?
I will work harder than anyone else, Ranger Silverback. Thank you, Ranger Silverback.
OK, I think I am getting it now. You have watched too many war movies where the response is "Sir, Yes Sir!". A simple "I understand Ranger silverback" would be good

Cut the Fuckin' Sarcasm "Pussnuts"!

You have been given to many chances already. And everytime you post you blow every one of them!

Your smart ass mouth will get you in a heap of shit!

You've been given some good advice and you dont have the common sense to use it. All that proves is that your education, as hidh as you say it is, is going to waste!

Look deep down inside yourself and find some sort of discipline!

I really did.

Seriously though, your original post Ranger AbnRgr289 was very well written. I don't know what college does to a person. Can anyone explain why MOST guys graduating college going into the service and being 2LT's or ensigns or whatever, why do they have that smartass, I know more than everyone attitude, I mean it is like they are the only ones who have ever been where they are. They demand respect but don't earn it. They don't realize that someone can resect therank or position but not the person. I just don't get it. It is kinda like explaining women. You just can't.

The best 2LT I ever had was in Korea, on his first day of taking over the platoon, he told everyone in formation. Yeah I have a Ranger Tab but it doesn't give me expierience. He was not afraid to ask his NCO's for help. Even when the questions seemed stupid. He didnt have that I know everything attitude. Great Guy.

I'll field this one. Often behavior such as what you have described is a defensive measure used to protect one's self from a percieved threat or from one's own lack of self-esteem.

Thanks  either way it is all greek to me! :D

On the serious side...

RM, you are probably very good in your field but you need to realize that you are going to be moving into a new field. Many college guys don't recognize this. They think that their internship for their degree has prepared them for whatever may come there way and that would be true if they were not changing vocations. For instance did your MA prepare you for small unit tatics? How to set up a perimeter coming off a CH-53 in a hot LZ? Night Infiltration? What is the nickname of the pointman? and other tricks of the trade.

These Rangers are your new professors in a field that life or death will be determined by a decision. While they might not be the teachers you are accustomed to you had better learn and adapt to their style of instruction. Remember adapt and overcome... there is no other alternative.

I am posting this message to convey my sincerest apolgies and to demonstrate my personal, heartfelt regret for showing disrespect to the Rangers, veterans, and members of this board. I am deeply sorry and I will never again show any disrespect in any fashion for any reason to any Ranger, veteran, or member of this board. I have spoken through PM to a couple members of The Brotherhood and I recognize that my remarks were completely out of line and shameful. I want to be a Ranger more than I want to breathe. Please accept that I am unmentionably sorry forthe disrespect I showed the board, The Brotherhood, and the community. I will work harder than anyone has previously worked to redeem myself and the Officer Corps and to learn and live the Ranger Creed. Thank you, Rangers, veterans, and members for allowing me to post this apology.

He asked me to post that he meant to say that he's going to work to "...redeem himself from and disrespect he has brought upon himself through his thoughtless remarks and by those remarks any disrespect he may have also brought upon the Officer Corps." He added that his wish is to learn and live the Ranger Creed as he progresses in his training adding that he felt that this was the singular best place for him to begin that training and enhance his skill while waiting for deployment.

All in all through a series of PM's and assignments-continuing even now-he's working hard on improving and while I am not by any means vetting him, I am willing to say that the kid's done a 180 in attitude and is working hard on the basics. Seems we may be able to add another one in or list of those who are willing to give 110% and then some. We'll see if he can continue.

Please don't waste anyones valuable time by turning into a fucking assclown, like some of the other ones before you did. Think about the opportunity you have here to be in personal contact with some outstanding individuals who have all done their fair share for our country.

IF you do remain switched on, you will be miles ahead of your peers when you join and you will notice that once you achieve those goals you set for yourself, you will enjoy your stay here more and more.
