My MEPS screw-up

Post by nock »

SFC Hit_It

My last trip to MEPS resulted in me failing the breathalyzer. Very, very stupid on my part. I've never been in any troble with the law and scored an 84 on the ASVAB. Can this affect obtaining an option 40?

Edit: I was DQ'ed for 45 days.

You fucking idiot.

I blame your recruiter even more than you, but both of you were some stupid motherfuckers.

You will draw a psych consult as soon as you show up to process again.

Once you complete the consult, if cleared, you'll need an interview with the commander of the recruiting battalion. This is area specific, if you don't need it where you are, don't worry about it.

You'll still see a shrink about your drinking problem. YOU DO HAVE A DRINKING PROBLEM, FUCKSTICK. whether or not you think you do.

NOTE: YOU HAVE TO SHOW UP TO MEPS VISIBLY INTOXICATED TO EVEN RECIEVE THE BREATHALYZER. THIS DUMBASS HAD TO BE STUMBLING AND FUCKING KNOCKING OVER SHIT.

Everyone in the Physical Exam room was required to take the breathalyzer which was about 15 of us. I was the only dumbass to fail.
I got over-zealous the night before. I regret it more than anything.

Never heard of it, unless there was suspicion stud. They had those other people in there to give the appearance of not singling you out.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not going to argue the fact of the drinking problem with you. I dont drink everyday, mostly socially, which is what occured. The max was .5, I blew .65. I know I'll pass the psych eval, and my recruiter said he thought I was pretty squared away. Based on your reply, and if I'm cleared, I will assume it doesn't hinder being allowed an option 40. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Chris
Desired MOS: 13 Foxtrot Opt. 40
AA in Bus. Admin degree complete: Dec 05
No contract as of today.

I've been reading the AR forum for a couple months now and learned a great deal about becoming and being a Ranger. I'm glad Rangers like yourselves take the time to help those like me who aspire to follow in your footsteps.

Now this is your 1st post to us back when you came on. You are not following in our footsteps. When it comes to Rangering, each Ranger is of sound mind and body, working together as a team. One man in you condition can get everyone killed. This lark on your part is a serious breach of confidence. I know I wouldn't want you in the foxhole with me covering my 6. Two thumbs down idjiot!

As RGR_Dan said, Go join the Navy. You are one fucken loser young man.

If for some strange act of god you make it past the recruiters at MEPS, the DS's at Basic, and the black hats in Airborne school. I will find you at RIP and you will begin to regret the day you made this post. eom.

Regardless of what you blew the implication is you have a substance abuse problem.

However, will it hinder you from getting an Option40 provided you otherwise qualify?

Unfortunately, probably not.

I would listen to Tenn_RGR. A lot of influential people within the Special Ops community read this board. They will find out and make your life a living hell.

Unless you think you can bear the pain, I suggest you find another service.

nock, just kill yourself. I'm most certainly not against putting a few down. Hell, I've done PT a couple of times and have no recollection of it. However, that was AFTER MEPS, in the Army, at my unit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the legal limit to drive in most states .08? You said you blew .65, am I correct? And if so, what the fuck were drinking, bong water and soju? I think if you blew a .65, you'd be dead. Man, pull your head out of your ass.
