Hi, my name is Robert. I am 20 and have 49 college semester credits. I enlisted into the Army 11 JUL 05. I have a 19D contract and ship to BCT 18 AUG 05. I have questions about OPTION 40 and OCS and will post in an appopriate forum. I look forward to any advice or suggestions and your insight.

Thank you Rangers for the welcome. The bonus was part of my decision on 19D SFC hit_it. The way the MOS was described to me made it sound like something I'd like and I was being told that I should wait to go for option 40 when I reenlist. The recruiters at the MEPS made the 19D (Cav Scout) sound like it would be a good stepping stone to OPT 40. I do have plans for OCS but after reading some posts on the topic I realize I want to do everything I can to get RIP in my contract now and not later- OCS can come later. I am going to talk to my recruiter about going back to MEPS and reno for an OPT 40 11x. I read that I will likely have more of a chance waiting until the new month but my BCT date is 18AUG05, will my ship date hinder my chances of renoing for an OPT 40? I do not have any intention of dropping out of DEP, I want to serve but have a great desire to have a chance at Ranger School and I'm not sure I've chosen the right path for this.
