Good call on the Option 40 thing. I'm an 18X-ray in the pipeline now, and I'm happy with what i'm doing, but knowing what I know now I would have chosen to go to Batt first and then go to selection from there if my desires didnt change. I'm one of the more mature guys in my class, but at the same time I know the experience I would gain from spending time in batt would make me a much better canidate for SF. Dont get me wrong, the 18X-ray program rocks.. I'm just saying :)

Went to MEPS, got a 92 on the asvab, 129GT and 119CO scores.
Ship July 6th with an opt 40 contract.
A little disappointed with my PT, my APFT score is hovering around 250 still. Going to take that one short step at a time. Just got to add 1 rep to my PU a week, 1 SU every other week, and shave 5secs a week off my run time to be maxing out before OSUT is over, that seems pretty attainable.

Assuming all goes well, I'll hopefully see some of the other DEPS this fall at RIP. If all goes real well, you Rangers can take turns smoking me like a cheap cigar at batt. :)
Well done, partner! You have no idea how wise your decision was. You'll be serving with the best.

Hey, one sure-fire way to get the most physical fitness training while in BCT is to treat all of your Drill Sergeants like they are all your closest friends.;) One great technique (I actually saw this) is when the company is marching somewhere, fall out of the formation in order to take over the cadence calling from whoever is in charge.:D (um, disregard all after 'best')
