Todays Rangers compared to earlier Rangers

Post by AM13862 »

I was talking to my neighbor the other day. And he was telling about what his Ranger team did when they went into Pannama. Then I told him about a book I was reading about some Ranger's in Nam. The only thing that he told me, was they are completely didferent to the ranger's you will see today. My question is what is so different about them.

Well, the training and the mission they have today, vs the training techniques and the mission they had back then are very different. They worked in smaller teams back then.

Now, being in the Ranger Regiment is to be part of a very versatile team that usually, but not exclusively, performs missions in company or larger sized elements. They also have a much larger array of sophisticated equipment to use and quite a few more other units to work with that are also part of the overall Special Operations Command that interoperate with the Rangers to accomplish whatever missions are assigned to them.
