I hope both of you are at least 25 years old. This day in age no one should be getting married before then. Why? You're young and need to enjoy life. I lost count of how many times I've see marriages fail with young men and women in the military and the number of times they've cheated on one another. Marriage is a BUSINESS between two people, not some cutesey lovey dovey ooy gooey thing.

Ranger Deleon275 said it best. Not that I am picking on women, but I find that women change a lot between 20-25, ( so do guys but the swing isn't as big). I have had friends that married their high school sweet hearts and they have failed ( I have seen a few succeed but they are rare). As people go from 18 to 25 they experience many things that they were not able to before and that environment shapes them and changes them. They find out that when in that small area that one person was great, as they get introduced to other things they never knew before. A lot of people want to get out and experience as much as possible before settling down.deleon275 wrote:I hope both of you are at least 25 years old. If people get married at a young age, they might have a lot of regrets, regrets that can put a great strain on the relationship. This may cause both to be uncomfortable and even result in a divorce ( ever notice how high the rates are these days as compared to twenty years ago?). A relationship must be very strong to endure hardship and both must be willing to compromise to make the other happy. This in itself is something that is hard for one or the other to do.
I wish you luck, but wait until he acually has the ring and pops the question before making plans

I suck at math. I have a greater chance to doing rocket scientist math than figuring out women.

ok guys
I appreciate everyones advice but for the record I am 25 and he is 26 so I am pretty sure we are mature enough for this. We have both finished college, have good jobs no prior marriages or children. so i think we have pretty stable ground to start from + I am not pushing anything I know he needs to come home and be able to acclimate himself. So here is to hoping for the best -Amy
,
Congratulations, good luck and may you have healthy offspring.
Having said that just knowing you're in for a bouncy ride that entails patience and courage not to mention kindness and the wisdom to know when to say nothing I really wish you all the best. :D

Congrats Amy. :DRideGrrl wrote:And in acknowledging this fact, you are so much farther ahead than men who stubbornly blunder on, certain that some day they will find the answers that simply don't exist... ;)rgrpuck wrote: I will never understand women![]()
Congratulations Amy.
Ride & Ranger Puck,
I was dead convinced that when men eventually figured out women, they died before being able to pass along the knowledge.

It's selective memory loss...for example, women forget how miserable pregnancy is or they'd never have more than one kid. When men figure a woman out, they immediately block out that painful knowledge or they'd probably all become monks.FireFinder wrote:I was dead convinced that when men eventually figured out women, they died before being able to pass along the knowledge.
The best way to kill time is to work it to death.
