Thank you for Welcoming me, especially to those who are Air Force related. I'll let you all know where I am at in the enlistment process. At the moment I have to take the PAST for the SERE job. Afterwards I'm going to get to MEPS a.s.a.p. and the next stop (if all goes well) would be BMT then to Hurlburt for Tech school. However, it will be some time because I'm finishing up the semester in college first. The earliest I could go would be after May. I'll be using that time to get in even better shape, rucking and keeping my ass out of trouble.
SERE is a stand alone job in the Air Force. I found a lot of information at www.gosere.com

Welcome young man. Never knew about SERE as an MOS or occupation. Always thought it was something people did when they had no damned choice. Magine that!

OK, you in 2 posts are already making me regret starting to be nice.... But, for the sake of saying that I did not let you fucking crash and burn, I am going to have just a little faith here, for just a little longer...
1. You DO realize that as a SERE School, Techie just out of an enlisted tech school with no real world experience, you are basically going to be the "go get that bitch..." right? And that NO ONE who goes through the school, which I might add sucks the ass of big hairy beasts, will give you any respect, room, credit, fucking anything. Not to mention that it's not a REAL FUCKING JOB BEING A MASOCHISTIC PIECE OF SHIT WHEN YOU'VE NEVER BEEN ANYWHERE OR DONE ANYTHING IN YOUR ENTIRE P.O.S. LIFE!!!
2. If you do indeed want to go to Ranger School and use the slot for what it's intended for, learning to kill bad guy's, then do you not think that perhaps you should be looking into a job where there is perhaps a chance, you know even the slightest chance that you might get deployed to somewhere you know, OUTSIDE OF THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES, THERE WONDER BOY???? (That would be OCONUS to you military type who aren't used to seeing things typed.)
3. Now this is a stretch, perhaps this one will make you think I am picking on you and I really, sincerely don't want you to think that because we Air Force types have to stick together in the big mean Army world.... But you do realize that the Battlefield Airman concept is coming faster than one of my Brother's on here finishes a bucket of the Colonel's best.... Further, there are now umpteen hundred Combat Veteran and fucking Hard Air Force types who are going to be pretty tired of playing "Johnny Camp's Alot" when this War is over, so what makes you think that you will possibly be able on your best day, keep up with them in this new found Non-Combat, School Teacher world you're making for yourself???
Now I am not dissing you, I am simply asking questions since you have taken such a HARD left from what you said yesterday. And since you've taken such a HARD left it's probably good that you keep on looking away from the TACP, PJ and CCT careerfield's as you need pure ass focus and drive to make it through there.
Good Luck.

and son, what the Man above just said comes from the Gospel of "been there, done that" and while you can get booboo liped about it, his message is very sound. Take it and contemplate it before you answer.

Well Sir, for the last year and a half I have thought of nothing other than joining the Air Force as TACP. I went to college for my family and because I was a bit scared to enlist directly out of high school. Honest truth is I have thought of nothing else other than being Military since I was a young child. College just proved to me even more that I no longer want to be a civilian. The SERE is a secondary job to TACP, the recruiter suggest that I have two jobs for "just in case reasons". I do think I have what it takes to be TACP. And I'm willing to give my all and more to get there.usaftacp wrote:OK, you in 2 posts are already making me regret starting to be nice.... Welcome. Don't sell yourself short. I have never been through TACP tech school, I am sure it is difficult, but you shouldn't shut yourself down before you start. If you want it bad enough you can get it. Just don't say the "q" word.
