Today I'm 45 friggin years old, here's how my day went:
Woke up at 0512 and took my ass to the gym, where I spained a muscle from turning while doing curls because somebody was askin me a question.
Got a call at 0700 about a problem with a server and I needed to get down to a local State Farm Office ASAP
Got down there and nobody showed up at the office until 0800. Rebooted the server (problem fixed). :o
Got pissed at Spartan, took it to the pit, and then realized I misinterpreted his statements. :?
Fixed a Dell and HP workstation but as I was completing the work on the HP, my bank sent me an email which indicated that the dudes check bounced
Get a call from my brother wishing me a happy birthday then just as quickly asking if I could loan him some money cause he was a little short (mind you he hasn't paid me back for the last two times he's asked for some money............. I'm thinkin why don't you call our sister, then I'm thinkin..........he probably has and is workin the two of us
Mom calls me and reminds me for the 1,000 time to stay on top of Karens college applications just to ensure we've got everything (I"m like I'm on top of it Mom....... her response was "I know but I just want to make sure everything goes right"
A Bunch of friends leave voicemail messages, PM's and such wishing me a happy birthday and all I'm thinkin is its just another day except for this one I get to eat my own cake.
When I was young I was ALWAYS EXCITED when my birthday rolled around, tried my best to figure out which girl I could score with (if I didn't have a girlfriend), which Bar I was goin too, or if it fell on a weekend, hoping that there was a KEG party being thrown.
Funny how time changes, but I will say this. I'm glad that I have my Ranger Brothers, Mojo, Devine Order Sisters and Other members (you know who you are) who are my friends, that God has blessed me with reasonably good health, that I have a woman in my life who is foolish enough to actually love my cranky ass, two children who love me as well and are good kids overall. And a decent life overall, I can't help but think about our American Fighting Men and Women who are overseas or even stateside right now defending my ability to actually celebrate my birthday in whatever manner I chose.
So in closing I Raise my Glass to Each of you as a Toast to our Brotherhood, Friendship, and the Ranger Way of Life!!! I am honored to know you all.
God Bless
Rangers Lead the Way!!!
