Welcome to the site. You do indeed have much to be proud of in your son and I am sure you'll begin seeing many changes in him as he continues his path into becoming a warrior.

Welcome to our site Sir, we (as I'm certain you are), respect a great deal, your son's commitment to serving our country especially during a time in which we find ourselves at war.

May God Bless him and your family, and may the lessons you've taught him serve him well as he begins his journey as a soldier and a defender of our Nation.

Welcome - you are a prime example of what a little "parenting" can do for today's youth. We could use a few more like you to turn around the "me" generation.

Welcome to the site.

You mentioned being scared for yer son. That's to be expected. Understand this....your son went into the Army as a boy. He'll come home a man. In a couple of years, he'll come home a Warrior. Congratulations to you both.

To us he is still a boy on his way to becoming a man, but at 25 years of age I am not so sure he would see it that way. :)

I was actually surprised at how old some of his platoon at OSUT were. There were several in their late twenties and they even had one guy whose son finished OSUT several months ago and actually outranks his dad.

Our son actually called this evening. He started BAC today and passed his PT test. He said that they lost 100 people out of the 400 that started today. 85 failed the PT test and 15 quit. He sounded tired but pumped up. He was also told that he will go straight to Ft. Bragg after BAC graduation.
