Army Ranger vs Army SF

I understand the varying roles and how Army Rangers and Army SF are different. I searched around and found that some guys on here seem to look up to Army SF and others look down on them. What exactly is the bottom line? Do you consider them more or less elite when it comes to combat? I also recall reading in a thread about how Army SF hand to hand experts pretty much owned the Army Ranger Hand to Hand guys.

You must not have read around too much asswipe as many of us who serve as Rangers go on and also serve in SF. Oh yeah, "I was an OK soldier as a Ranger, but when I got to SF, I ruled!"

What I want to see is a post from you, with a URL attached, that points out where a Ranger was showing disrespect, or 'looking down' to Special Forces on this website. Similarly, I want to see an example, as a URL where Rangers were 'looking up' to Special Forces on this website.

Do it in your next post, like, before the next time you apologize and make lame assed excuses for fucking up and posting stupid shit.

Is the 4th ID better than the 3rd ID? Could the 3rd ID take the Ranger Regiment in a tank battle?

Stupid question overall and even dumber because they have a completely different mission.

First of all I think the 18X option to basic trainees is stupid. The strength of SF is its experience and you don't have any with this stupid policy.

If the Rangers or SF ever get into a hand to hand fight with the bad guys they are in a world of shit anyway. Both are light infantry and if it gets to that point both would be surrounded and outnumbered and probably out of ammo. So that is another dumb question.

I think this fuck is trying to start arguements or is just so stupid I can hardly stand it. Ban this fucker for good.

The reason SF might be a step up to some is that at some point you have to leave the Ranger regiment. So what do you do next. Go to a different unit, leg infantry, 82nd, become a instructor somewhere or go SF or Delta. SF with its experienced NCO's can be seen as a step up because you are only dealing with other experienced NCO's instead of stupid ass privates like someday you might be. You don't have to deal with all the dumb shits.

What that allows to happen is less discipline because everyone is a professional and is experienced. You don't have to tell an NCO to do something because they are already doing it. A inexperienced private doesn't know what to do let alone when or if they should be doing it.
So the unit can potentially do more without privates but then again they aren't a direct action unit either.

All units in the army have an important job. We may make fun of leg units or tankers but in most cases Rangers can't fight a tank battle either. The 75th Regiment or the Special Forces could not have driven on Baghdad like the 3rd ID did but the 3rd ID couldn't do what the Rangers or SF do either.

Of course my old squad could have driven to Baghdad with only a ARSOV and a 5 gallon can of water and taken out Saddam even before he knew we were there but that is another story.

I have been on other websites where their is some lurker who asks the same questions over and over just to start fights. Like who is better the marines or army, then it is 82nd vs 101st, then it is 82 vs Rangers and finally SF vs Rangers. Are you doing this shitbag?

If you think for a second that I was slamming SF, then you completely missed the joke. It was a light-hearted slam at MY OWN FUCKING UNIT...the Rangers!!!
