My JROTC instructor is happy that I'm wearing my uniform. He says it sets a good example for the other cadets and has personally tried to get my teachers to reconsider. My chain of command were the first to encourage me to wear my uniform to school. However I do agree that it is my main priority to ...

I live in Maryland Ranger 513 and i see your point 91W, but it seems kind of sad to me that all that stuff I learned about fighting for my country and the people is a bunch of B.S. It seems as though no one appreciates what many of you have done and won't appreciate what I may be called to do. I ...

School Politics and the Army

As many of you may already know I'm a split-op soldier currently attending high school. Since I've been back I've run into a few problems at school concerning my uniform. Some of my teachers have decided that they don't want me wearing my Army uniform to their classes. I do it to help out my ...

Well I bought a pretty good military fitness book which imcorporates just about everything. I know as long as i stay with it ill be fine. Oh but as of now I'm a reservist so I dont have a mentor. I shipped for Basic about two weeks after my 17 birthday so i didn't become aquainted with DEP. Was I ...

It's not that I'm trying to get a status, its just that after Basic I was left wanting more. I've been back home for two months and have been bored out of my mind with school and doing the same old stuff day after day. However, I will take your advice to heart. I've been going to college fairs and ...

That's right, Ranger Soul Snatcher I'm going to do the online degree thing. I was thinking about doing SMP, but its almost impossible to get an Airborne slot that way and I can't stand the thought of waiting another four years to become Airborne Ranger. So I'm hoping it works out.

I went to Basic at Fort Jackson (way too damn easy). I joined the Army looking for a challenge and excitement and from what I hear being an Airborne Ranger is the way to go. I'm very interested in history and the politics of war which is why I chose my MOS 96B, but I don't wanna be behind a desk for ...

The thing is Ranger RTO is that when I search the topic i get thousands of matches and nothing seems to be too relevant and I can't narrow the search. Honestly I really just want the challenge of going to Ranger school. I really want to be part of the 82 Airborne. I haven't really looked much at the ...

My apft score was a 256 Ranger Horned Toad. The reason I asked was it nescessary was because pull-ups were not stressed much at Basic and most of the articles and books I read on military fitness only focus on push-ups, sit-ups and running. I usually dont get anything telling me I need to do pull-ups

Pull-Ups??

Over the past few months I've been going a lot of training to improve my overall fitness level focusing mainly on the APFT events. But I've read that to go Airborne and Ranger that I need to be able to do pull-ups. Before Basic I could not do any and now I can maybe do 5 at best. Is thier a way that ...

Becoming a Ranger

So far already I've completed Basic as a split op and want to go Active and become a ranger as a 96B...I hear support MOS can become rangers now. However I'm kind of at a loss on how to do this. I'm a senior in high school and I've already go the go ahead from my Sergeant Major to go active but I'm ...
