College while in Batt

If your idea is to go to batt to get college, don't, I don't remember year or exact circumstances but me and a few other rangers from C co. attended Armstrong State college for a semester. I don't remember a whole lot about timeframe other than missing the Great Salt Lake deployment when SFC Moore f...

Needs of the Army

Needs of the army, you got that right. I reenlisted in 93, and at that time PDA wasn't an option, and I wasn't ready to get out. I served my full tour in Batt and reenlisted for Hawaii. And then i read stories about Rangers doing 8 or ten years in batt , guess I reenlisted at the wrong time or shoul...

I'm not sure if they added days to the other phases or shortened Ranger school, but almost all of our real world missions since that change was in a desert environment. How many real world missions occur chest deep in environmen...

The swamps , chiggers, and sand fleas really sucked at 1st batt but Savannah, St. paddy's day , River Street, and Tybee Island really made it worthwhile.

Where do these kids come up with these questions? It wasn't that long ago when pv2- pfc were running around with CIBs foreign jump wings, and mustard stains long before HOOAH school, there's an OML and you go when they feel your ready,

I remember well, that Ranger could do flutter kicks ALL DAY LONG. If I remember correctly he also ran like a gazzelle. I thought I read somewhere he partticipated in Best Ranger around that time frame....?

Doc Donovan

Doc Donovan, found on most any Ranger site, was our battalion surgeon for years. If you saw him during sick call, pretty much no matter what was wrong with you, he would prescribe you with motrin, lots of water and go to the Ranger gym.
