Rangers,

As of right now, I am in R.I.P. holdover, and will be there for 5 weeks. While I obviously can't say too much about what's going on because of OPSEC, needless to say, the PT is a real smoker, but at the end of it, I feel good about myself, and I'll be that much more prepared after 5 weeks ...

Update:

On Friday, I graduated from Airborne School and earned my Jump Wings. I have to admit, it was an awesome feeling to join the ranks of the Paratroopers.

We were all given a pass to go home for Memorial Day weekend, and we get picked up for RIP hold on Wed. We're supposed to be on hold for ...

Rangers,

I appreciate all of the support given here on the forums. I'm as excited as ever now that RIP is only a few weeks away, and regardless of the obvious "suck" that I'll have to endure for 4 weeks, the words of encouragement from my family, the vets, and the Rangers on this forum will help ...

Cosmo SITREP: Jump School, Week 2

Hello, this is Cosmo posting my first SITREP since early January before heading off to Ft. Benning.

Right now I'm at Airborne, about to go into Week 2. The training I've received thus far has been great, and I'm extremely excited for Jump week and to earn those silver wings. The best part about it ...

Ranger Jim, Ranger RRDTm3, and Ranger Rangerguru, I appreciate all of your advice. While I realize my run time does in fact suck, that won't discourage me from heading towards my goal of becoming a Ranger at full speed. From what I understand, and please correct me if I'm mistaken, but if you are ...

Ranger Jim,
I have chosen to embark upon becoming a member of the 75th Ranger Regiment because I want to KNOW that I would be serving with the most elite group of warriors on this planet. I want to know that I can confidently trust each and every man in my unit with my life, as they can expect the ...

Shipping off to Ft. Benning next week

First off, hello to everyone on this board, and please forgive me if this is not the correct section to post this thread. Next week, I will be shipping off to Ft. Benning and begin my path to Ranger. It has been an amazing past few months since my enlistment back in May and I would personally like ...

Ranger Everett Ruess, I regret if my introduction shows a sign of "eagerness" or "haste" in regards to war. I can assure you that is not the case. While I have not been in combat or in any life-threatening situations, I am fully aware of just how serious and devastating war can be. I'm not looking ...

OK kid, you've received some very positive welcomes. Not an easy feat on this site. However one undertone of your post strikes me - I want you to tell me what this phrase means: "Dulce bellum inexpertis". Post your answer here. If I don't get back to it right away, exercise patience, I'll be back ...

Thank you for all of the great welcomes, highly appreciated. I can't wait to get into the Army and start the path to earning a place in one of America's greatest legacies: The U.S Army Rangers.

God bless America, and God bless those who protect it.

My Path to the Tab (An Introduction)

I would first like to say hello to all members of this forum, and give a very special thanks to the Rangers and various Special Forces soldiers that served/are serving this country. Thank you so much.

My name is Rick, and I'm 19 years old and currently residing in New Jersey. I have a High School ...
