Re: Introduction - Andrew

Andrew, Welcome to the site. Sounds like you have a good attitude and a great deal more maturity than the average person seeking an Option 40 contract. I got to watch one of my cadets over the past year and a half drop nearly a hundred pounds in his goal to commission, and he motivated the hell out ...

Re: Introduction- Garrett

Garrett, Welcome to the site. First off, whatever MOS you sign up with will be your basic job, Option 40 or not. Option 40 will get you a guaranteed slot to the selection process to do the job in one of the Ranger Battalions, straight out of AIT. If you go to OSUT at Benning with an 11X contract, yo...

Re: Airplane game

Thats one of the most polished flash games... so damn simple, so damn fun. I had to keep playing until I got all the accomplishments... 18 days was my best.

Re: SITREP Ribot0

I finally graduated from Ranger school. It's been 5 years in the making, and was worth every bit of it. It had its rough moments (watching my first patrol going to shit, first mountains movement going up "the wall", first movement with the heavy Florida ruck) but each just made me stronger...

Re: Christmas Ideas for moms

A good knife will always be appreciated, as well as a bottle of his favorite drink. Might want to think about buying him an airplane ticket back home, too. I'll also second the Commando's gift certificate, its amazing how much money they stole away from me this summer.

Re: Introduction: Shane Grayson

Shane, Welcome to the board. You will find that there are many hurdles between where you stand now and achieving a Ranger tab, or any other hard accomplishments in life. How far you go is determined only by your attitude and how hard you push yourself towards your goals. I also didn't think it was p...

Re: SITREP Ribot0

Just a quick update while I am on a pass: I will be getting my Tab this Friday. It sucked, but was worth it.

I'll post a bit more when I get back to the real world next.

Re: SITREP Ribot0

Just a quick update here. I'm down at Benning now, and will start IOBC next week. I got my duty station - I will be going to Fort Wainwright, AK. So far everything is going well, though I would have much preferred to have orders going to Ft. Richardson. Its been almost five years since I became invo...

Good song. Yesterday they started the Bataan Death March with this playing. It was pretty motivating.

Re: SITREP Ribot0

Gentlemen, Its been quite some time since my last update, and a lot has happened. After commissioning I wasn't able to get active duty orders, and spent the summer working as a technician for the NJ National Guard, mowing lawns and sweeping up armories. I got to spend a lot of time bullshitting with...

I'm probably late to the party, but I just wanted to throw in another vote for the XD. I've got a XD subcompact in 9mm. The damn things gone through almost 3k rounds without any hiccups, ever.
