Cold Weather Training

Now that it is snowing here in NY, I was wondering if you guys could recommend any other PT that could be done in cold weather. If I make it into Battalion, I know that a little snow on the ground don't mean shit.
Thanks.

I was just the opposite. I really wanted an 18x contract but I was told that they were only giving those contracts to college grads. I happily accepted the option 40 contract and feel that if I make it through RIP, then maybe one day I will get my opportunity to go SF. I also think that maturity-wis...

Question for the Rangers

I was wondering if any of the Rangers on this board were ever approached to try-out for Special Forces. I was told that many SF soldiers were once Rangers. I was also wondering if a Ranger must go through SFAS even after they have done RIP.
Thank you ahead of time.

Thanks Ranger Holmchicken. Even though I never though of things that way, I appreciate you shedding some light on my situation. I always wanted a hooker and lots of beer, but going in the military should accomodate me quite well.

I was planning on going to music school to study guitar and performance arts. I had worked with my teacher to line up auditions and I had also recorded with my band and was prepared to begin looking at labels. One day I looked at myself in the mirror and thought, "Do I actually want to be seen ...

Ranger Neves, here's the info I have: I had a 11x contract when I enlisted and the station commander put a reno in for me. As soon as the slot opened up, we went to MEPS and I received the the options that I wanted. The reno kept getting pushed back and in hindsite, I wish that I would have held out...

Ranger Handbook

I was just given the Ranger Handbook and was wondering what information would be the best for a DEP to learn? I know that knots, formations, leadership, and orienteering are very important, but are there other things that I should read up on?
Thanks ahead of time.

Thanks. I'll make sure to try and run everyday. Should I also focus on running hills and rucking at all? I leave at the end of June and I want to be some-what prepated.

RIP/Basic Training

I was wondering if there is anything a person could do to get ready for RIP and Basic training? I know that there is a high washout rate for soldiers in RIP and that it is not for everyone. I run 5 miles twice a week with my recruiter and lift weights almost everyday.
Thanks ahead of time.
